In this video I test Magsafe Charging speeds with Apples 20 Watt USB-C Charging brick and I compare it to Apples 18W USB-C charger and Anker Nano 20W charger to see how much longer it takes if you use those instead.
I also compare iPhone 12 Pro Magsafe charging against using old usb-A 5W charger, a standard Qi 7.5W wireless charger and USB-C Lightning wired fast charging to see how long it takes and if Magsafe is worth it for your iPhone.

I’d be curious to see if the anker results in a reduction in battery longevity due to the higher temperatures. I doubt it’s resulting in more heat than the lightning cable but it would be neat to see the battery health of 3 phones with the same usage 1 year later that were charged exclusively with each method. I know that’s not feasible but it would be neat.

Why does everyone keep saying this. If Apple removes the charging port then they will literally turn their phones into immpentrable bricks forced to use ineffecient and slow methods of data transfer and basically any and all connections. The charging port is used for WAY WAY more than just charging. It's pretty much the only connection iPhone's have to the rest of technology (and the fastest and most efficient). Apple would actually need to be the Devil to even attempt that and iPhone users would need to be brainless sheep to still buy that.

because it is. Samsungs "fast charging" also takes about 1.5 hours. Fast charging is always about fast charging from 0-50 or sometimes 0-70% and then slows down to protect the battery... charging from 0-100 at full speed would be extremely stupid. That's why only companies are doing it, that don't care about longevity. Like Oppo or Xiaomi.

Another great video guys, thanks for your hard work and massive patience it must have taken to do the testing, which I think is going to be as useful for those of us who are confused by Apple’s marketing as the M1 Mac coverage has been . One quick question though, did you have the battery optimised settings turned off during the testing? The reason I ask is that I think that iOS 14.2 ( and possibly other builds) has a bug that enables this setting even after you turn it off ( both when you turn it off until tomorrow or just entirely). I noticed it on my iPhone 11 first and now it’s happening to my iPhone 12 pro max also. I’m hoping that 14.3 will address it but I’m not going to hold my breath either as a number of other known bugs seem to exist from the coverage I’ve seen of the beta so far.
