iPhone 12 Pro Max Abandoned & Unclaimed By Owner - So I Fixed It For Myself
Ғылым және технология
Its back for another video! This iPhone 12 Pro Max was found on the side of a highway being left for several days in the rain. Likely also being ran over at least once. In the last video we tracked down its owner and reached out to him in several ways, but 6 months on and he never claimed the phone. So being left with it I am taking it upon myself to fix it up!

Surely Apple could allow people to validate parts to the new phone online, if it is really about security that is.

Hey Hugh, i just wanted to give an advice on how you can remove the adhesive from the side of your phone, this trick is actually used by my local repair shop, just take a small motor along with a battery and either take a small screwdriver end or a thin metal rod and attach that to the motor, it helps to speed up the adhesive removal process 😊

Hey Hugh, really liked the video. Just want to say that since you have the original earpiece cable you can reprogram it with the i2C i6s programmer and pair it to a new special i2C flex. After that you just have to solder back a speaker. Done it on the iPhone X. It’s even possible to reprogram it if you don’t have the original earpiece flex but you’ll have to take out the Nand and use the p14 pro. So it’s a big advantage that you have the original cable.

Hello, That's an impressive restoration. I have some questions about the usability of this damaged phone, if you have time to answer. - Have you been able to do an iOS update ? I ask in order to know if the problems you see about face ID and other, prevents the phone to update or not. - Have you been successful in adding a SIM card ? Have you done a phone call without problem ? - Is the WiFi and the 4G functioning ? In other words, is the repaired phone is usable, and was the hassle of the repair worth it ? Thank you.

Hello Hugh I'm a big fan, have you encountered any PWM flicker issues on iPhone, how do you deal with it and what is the permanent solutions without setting up the white balance, does replacing the screen fixed the issues? Thanks
Big score!
Was watching this while doing a buttload of homework, and right as I finished the final assignment Hugh went "and we're done" which was just comical timing lol
Apple Pay issue is rampant in iOS 16. Had a XS that had it working on iOS 15 updated it to 16 and it never came back. Face ID can be repaired via micro soldering, have heard that putting on the screen without it attached to test can trigger that message as well. Its now getting beyond a joke they lock everything and the self repair program is an even bigger joke. You should send the phone off of a micro solderer im sure theres a few who would collab with you and get Face ID fixed its quite cool how they do it, and how they repair I7/8 home buttons.
4:10 Love the ChrisFix reference
Supreme job Hugh
Great job
Highly appreciated 🙏 But I still wonder why you didn't just disassemble its parts at once, then try to clean it up fully?!
Which company or website do you use for parts?
Great job Hugh. Apple is really screwing its customers with all of these serializations
Check the antenna cable at the top right on the camera module for the apple pay issue, thats an antenna which helps for the nfc on the front side, if that had corrosion there is a huge chance that it needs replacement so apple pay messege to be fixed
Amazing skills.
I always love and look forward to your videos Hugh!

@thejayestjay
Жыл бұрын
That's what I thought too. But with the back panel not being properly replaceable might be difficult to fix it.
@DOLFYTheDev
Жыл бұрын
No, that's actually the NFC chip on the MB being short-circuited or just down right cracked. This cannot be fixed and Apple would just swap the board / sell you a new phone. I had this happen on 12 Pro after a hard fall. It prevents you from downloading any apps as well that you already don't "OWN" on your account even the Free once.
@Leos74

@@DOLFYTheDev damn, that sucks. I mean not surprising because it's apple.. but not being able to install apps is dumb

For important disply message you need to replace screen ic swap from old lcd to new lcd
For the PSA adhesive, it’s best if you pick, and pull the adhesive at an angle like a command strip.
Your work is so important! For how much are you selling it now?
Hugh have you tried reinstalling the Operating System to clear the Apple pay error ? At some stage Apple will have to change it's business model based on constant short cycled replacement of hardware platforms and non support of right to repair in order to remain viable.
