Me too, “let’s sandwich our new phone in two thin layers of glass” is probably the dumbest thing ever said in the Apple design department. And they’ve had plenty of dumb ideas.

An extra fun fact, here in the uk I went to an Apple Store to price getting it repaired, I was expecting it to be expensive but I was quoted almost £500 😂 as apparently they can’t just replace the glass they have to replace the whole chassis. GFY 🍏

What opener tool is that? Don't see a link for it and am having trouble finding one like it. It looks very interesting and handy in the right situation.

Don't be fooled. While this looks easy just keep a few things in mind. 1: This can very quickly cause damage to a phone. You have exposed cables, plastics and the battery. 2: If the phone is shattered really badly, this will take a very long time to complete. Time is money.

the golden plate is for antenna I believe, does it make a difference if the golden plate is came out during the broken back glass removal? is the golden plat just glued or its connected with some component?

I got a 12 mini that got dropped the only visible damage is the back glass shattered and it’s exposed the coil for the wireless charger or about 25% of the coil. The problem is it’s like it has no SIM card in the phone now. Everything works like it should except reading the sim. Do you have any idea what could have happened

I accidentally made the battery area smoke.. what does this mean? Is the phone cooked or do I need a battery replacement?

is the back glass quality same as original apple ones? or they a bit poor in quality

My daughter recently broke the glass on the back of her iPhone 12, everything still works, but I’m guessing it’s a little less water resistant than it was. I’m just going to put it in a non transparent case and call it good. I was checking this video to see what was involved after being quoted £80 to swap the glass with a 3rd party replacement by some little guy that sells phone covers in our local town centre, now I’ve seen what’s involved and the scope for things to go wrong I think I’ll pass. I’ve swapped out batteries before and I know enough to know when to leave it be. Thanks for the video.

Thats NOT the battery, folks. Thats the wireless charging coil hes referring to. And a vise or holder needs to have a slot to keep the power button from being pressed the whole time its in the vise or holder.

I mean for safety remove the board battery and the cameras and do this repair

I've shattered my iphone 12 pro back and I've spend 2 hours over 2 days trying remove it all I'm at 50% removal done many iphones this 1 seems to be really hard via the glass removal

Back glass on 12 series and up is so much easier then 11 and below but the camera glass is a huge pain in the ass. Did a 13 pro.max other day and that camera glass was a nightmare ended up destroying the flash cause the blade slipped right under it damaging it somehow then spent like a hour replacing the dam flash since u pretty much have to take the whole dam phone apart to get the flash out! Wish there was a easier way. Even with a laser seems like u will still have a fight with that dam thick ass camera glass.

guys help, i was getting in my car, magsafe on my phone, so it bounced out my pocket, drove away, went back, turns out i ran it over. it still works perfectly fine, but the whole back is shattered. i don't want my parents to find out because it's really expensive to get it fixed, help me please 😭🙏

You use your hot air gun at 450c as in 842 degrees 😳

That’s not the battery lol the battery is on the other side that’s the magnets for the MagSafe devices and that’s the wireless charger

Yes and when you remove the 2 big magnets below the the ring, it exposes the battery. Prove me otherwise?

That is not OEM Glue mate... And exposing battery to 400°C it's not good idea...

Don’t watch this video and think you can do this easily yourself. I am removing mine now. The glass does not come out easily. I advise you take it out to a pro if you want to save your phone

Caution ppl's! This is not an original housing.. The glue is the wrong color, and theres no foil patch covering the QI coil either! Looks a lot like a copy housing to me, and the glass almost comes of those, just by giving them "a stern look"..! I got the TBK 958 Laser, so I never tried this process with a heat gun, but I am sure, that you will fry the shit out of pretty much any original iPhone housing (with serious glus), if attempting to remove the back glass like this! I sometimes offer my "copy-housing-back-glass costumers" a discount, whenever I come across one of these.. as the glass come of so easy!

Not an OEM housing. Either that or it's been replaced before.

So unprofessional .. takes the phone and scratches the screen of hard steel ... scratches the sides of the phone in clamp... stretches the back of the phone with forceps and steel...... I wonder why are there not more many negative comments... seems like he is deleting them also
