I realize this is an older video however thank you for describing your heat & air speed settings as you go along. I try to do this as a hobby and I’m always interested in understanding how you approach your work. I know you say your experience is the reason why you charge what you charge regardless of how long it takes you so I appreciate when you share little pieces of your knowledge.

I know this is an older video, but it made me smile when you were talking about the Solder Stations. The difference between a good solder machine and a cheap one, saying if it can sense if the tip is loosing heat to the motherboard or not. I just blurted out "You mean if the solder machine has a good Thermocouple that send signals to the heater control card/chip or a cheap ass Thermocouple." We use Thermocouples in the Hot Runners at work so the Heater Control Panel Array can supply electricity or not to keep the Heater Bands at the right melting point for the plastic resin without burning the resin. This is inside molds that heat plastic resin, inject it into a mold, and make plastic auto parts.

I love it when you explain what your doing / why that way / temps your using. Excellent video! But im just wondering, how did the small SMD filters not just fly away? they seem to just fly away with heat and air

man wow your the only person that described why there was different price points for tools and what the difference is on the internet. i couldnt find this info anywhere when looking to buy tools a few months ago. everything i found was vague like, " its just heats better" or 'heats up faster". as a beginner that didn't make much sense lol now i know

Learn how not to destroy connectors and soldering on junk first. Either way things will happen, toshiba laptops had a zif socket on the board you looked at the tab and it shattered! After all their trying to maximize profit, but Ive never seen a jack that mangled and not tore off the board!

I have recently bought a Hakko 852d and 851 (built together in one custom case)dual station with iron and hot air,but not with a ventillator in the handle. Instead, it has a big air compressor in the base. I wonder if it is good or not? Is it accurate in temperature metering? And is it reliable enough for long-term use? I am asking this here because you have probably seen/tried more of this stuff in your life than I ever will. I also have a 220v 75W Weller station but that is just a soldering iron with solder sucker tip and no hot air stuff came with it.

The connector can handle heat but has a breaking point. Knowing your hot air station and how far you have to be from the connector and when to pull out, only comes with hands on practice.
