This performance was like when your parents order pepperoni AND cheese pizza on a friday night! Both pizzas are different, but when combined create an unforgettable moment that was really epic!!!✨🍕✨

It was a pleasure to take the field with you, HMB. This was among my top band memories! Go Bucks and go hawks! Sincerely, an OSUMB member

Hi Christian Frankl. Thanks for this interesting and well edited version of the performance in Columbus in October. As a TBDBITL alum from the old days I have always kept an eye on the OSUMB on You Tube; this performance is without doubt among the most satisfying of them. Dr McDaniel's arrangement comes through clearly, a remarkable achievement for around 400 players stretched from goal line to goal line. And as this video points out, only one 2 1/2 hour rehearsal (on the Friday evening, I presume) to put it all together. You may not know that an OSU band fan took a video of that rehearsal's (probably final) run through and placed it onto You Tube. A couple of rough spots in it maybe but not evident in the performance the next day. The on field close ups are a great addition to the one-camera view from OSU. Your control of the giant mace was unwavering and Ella McDaniel's physicality and especially her slow motion split is something not seen often in Ohio Stadium. Congratulations. From a proud TBDBITL's viewpoint it was interesting to see the marked difference in personal marching discipline between the Buckeye and Hawkeye bands' approach, evident especially in the closeups. Even so, perhaps the highlight of your video for me was the clip of the two directors on the podium during the performance. I'm sure you would never see Dr Christopher Hoch gain his 'cool' while on the podium and I'm sure your director Dr Bush knew that, but still that brief and unexpected 'moment of cool' from him was worth savouring. I've posted onto my blog a collection (5) of KZread videos of the weekend and you may wish to have a look. lettersbyrwk.wordpress.com Click on 'Other' and look for 'Elton John in Wellington'.
