we used to go there every year as a family. since I moved from Iowa, I really miss those time at the Iowa State Fair or Midwest Old Threshers. some of the best times spent.

I've been to a handful of state fairs. My parents live the Wisconsin state fair best for the cream puffs and nothing else, but I absolutely love the Iowa State fair more than any other!

I'm so glad you all enjoyed the Iowa State Fair. My husband and I go every year....several times every year. You highlighted a couple of things I'm going to buy this year that I've never had. That's one fun thing about it: there's always something you haven't heard of and haven't eaten. I had a son born August 6th, and a daughter born the next year on August 2nd, and both were at the Iowa State Fair as newbies! Thanks for all the good comments about our state fair! Hope you come back!

Iowa is a amazing place to live and visit. I LOVE IOWA BORN AND RAISED AND STILL LIVE.

I used to live there and loved this Fair. I loved the red velvet funnel cake.

This state Fair is so popular all the way back to 1945's State Fair movie, It truly is the greatest Fair in our State. Unlike the carnivals in Texas that claim to be a state fair. State Fairs are a permanent assembly where a carni travels around.

Hey guys!!! I live about 10 miles away from the Washington State fair so I’m a big fan of the food, exhibits but not so much the rides anymore. So I feel for ya Matt. We call our ride bracelets “dizzy passes” and I retired from the dizziness years ago. I think with age comes wisdom lol, and a weaker stomach for spinning rides. The food there looks amazing and I’m a sucker for chocolate chip cookies and bacon wrapped chicken wings. And on a complete side note, there a live feed on KZread of downtown Leavenworth from the roof of the Kris Kringle store that you must check out if you want a sneak peek of winter in our little Bavarian oasis. And as far as retiring from rides consider yourself a member of the “no spin zone” club👍 I’m glad you checked out and enjoyed the live feed of Leavenworth. If you guys ever go back to the state fair, there is a place where you can park called Southeast Polk and you can ride a bus to the Iowa State Fair for only two bucks if it’s the two of you
