FaceTime voice(video?)mail is such a wonderful feature to finally have. Anyone with loved ones across the country or world knows how special it is to see and hear those people and have it saved. Sure, people can already record a video and message/email- but this feature will feel like a continuation of the old “please leave a message after the beep” that the grandparents/less tech-savvy people will actually use. Granted, I know half of the video messages will be a few seconds of grandpa and grandma waving their fingers around looking for the button to hang up… and I’ll love those too.

I really like that they have (brought back) the voicemail feature that landlines used to have hahah being able to interrupt the voicemail is actually super useful! Instead of playing phone tag where it will sometimes just tell you that you have missed a call from the person you are literally leaving a voicemail to, they will just interrupt your message and you can talk straight away This was a really cool video on the updated iOS! I haven’t seen heaps of your videos yet, but I have started watching a bunch that are about tech that I might only find moderately interesting just because I like how you talk about the tech: very honestly and with the end user in mind. Thank you

I am a young person, but I remember back in 08 when I had a landline still. And I remember listening to the voicemail and thought the person was leaving a voicemail. It was a big surprise when picked up the phone and realized they could hear me too. I always thought this was a cool feature. And I’m happy they brought this into the modern era.

Oddly I find Google Assistant responds quicker when I use pleasantries like please and thank you. Kind of makes sense since it also checks if you say things rudely like, "turn on my TV, idiot," as it will respond telling you to not be rude, so I guess if you say please it just ends computing? Idk why but it's notable and interesting

The phone bump feature was already available years ago in Google Nexus. But almost nobody I knew had a Nexus back then. But it was a charm to use when somebody had one. I wonder why Apple didn’t bring that much sooner but I am happy to finally use this extremely helpful feature better late than never again missed it so much over the years

Not sure if it was a different feature as I never had a Nexus, but Android Beam was available in a handful of other handhelds. Thought it was a pretty neat feature even if it was rarely used (and admittedly a little finicky). Maybe this release from Apple will prompt Google to bring the feature back again, who knows.

Video message is a bit too much but personalized contact is actually a great feature. The issue is that most smartphone brands use different apps for contacts. So they either have to work together to add this feature in all of them and decide on a common format for the personalized contact that can actually be modified into the style of each different contact app. Or Google could use it as a way to force their own contact app on all Android devices by not allowing other contact apps to use this feature.

One of the best features no one seems to be talking about and one that Apple didn’t mention at the WWDC is that now my phone and iPad automatically connect to my Sonos speaker. Now, when you open up the Music app or the TuneIn Radio app, it automatically connects to AirPlay. I have been waiting for this feature for years and Apple has finally answered my prayers. I have a Sonos speaker, and the process of connecting to it was always annoyingly time-consuming. Now when I open any app that has AirPlay compatibility, I get a small banner at the top of the screen that I can simply touch with my finger to connect to AirPlay. And just like that it’s done. Furthermore, it seems to learn at which time of the day I’m most likely to connect to my Sonos speaker and it does it automatically. That's really smart and I love it. This simple touch is long overdue

If you're a troll like me, record your own voice and then have your phone in your voice speak to you all day as you're just going through your emails, or scrolling on youtube, or have the voice of a significan't other read your amazon shopping list to you and let you know in their voice from a text message that says, Why did I find 11 spoons in the couch"? This is definitely the best iOS update in a while. I can’t wait for it to release

Bro, my KZread is glitched and Marques has a Spanish voiceover. I assumed it was him trying to show a new feature. I kept waiting for him to say something in English but he didn’t. This video is glitched it’s the only one doing this for me. 😂

the 'answering machine' feature is actually pretty cool, i remember that it used to be a dramatic thing in movies for characters to hear a voicemail and sometimes pick up to reconcile with their failed love, maybe they'll use this iOS feature in a movie as a replacement lol

standby mode is really good for productive people. i can have it on my bedside table, or on my working desk with my second phone, so i can still use my main one. i use the reminders widget and the clock the most. standby mode is the feature that i've used most out of all iOS features
