Great side-by-side testing

Haven’t had any issues with my 15pro max. Battery did decrease slight to 98%. Betas are good, but they do chew battery. Personally, I just wait to get the full release. What I found was helpful is to back up my device and do a full reset after getting the public release.

I don’t mean any harm but are you sure they are both connected to 5ghz/6ghz WiFi? Thanks.

17.4.1 on base iphone13 is HORRIBLE! lags , keyboard shutters , animations are choopy and battery drains so fast. Poor quality control by apple indeed.

my iphone 11 battery health is 84% on 17.4.1 (re released version) but now I am on 17.5 public beta 4 and its same as in old update. No battery health drop in my case🎉 I am happy with heating also my phone heats less now🎉

I am in the UK and 17.5 seems no different than 17.4.1 except the processing is slightly faster. Won't be long for iOS 18. More AI rubbish to contend with but luckilly that can be turned off if not required. If you charge your battery as you update, there is less cycling going on with your battery, there is little or no draw on the battery, as it is not being drained.

I’m on 17.4.1 and I just got the 15 pro recently and I haven’t had issues so far. It’s been a great experience and I did a trade in with the 12 pro max

when you understand that these updates are not intended to correct errors, but serve to make the product dated only in order to replace it with a new one, my iPad worked fine, but after the update it started turning off and the battery life shortened by about 80%, the same with every device from Apple, Applewatch, I charged one update every 4 days and the battery life immediately shortened by 50%, what does this mean?

My iPhone 15 works much better on 17.5 b4 than on 17.4.1 - it heats up less while playing, the battery drains noticeably slower and I haven't had a problem with the alarm clock. The only thing I regret is the upgrade from 17.3.1, which worked even better.

@@magistar0 yep. Thats my plan. Coz i dont need anything special of cell just not to die in like year,stable softwere and everyday uses. I bought Iphone coz of stability and then i got issues like on Xiaomi 🤷🏻‍♂️😂 if nothing change i will go for some midrange Samsung and thats it. Or Pixel. I dont need expensive cell with constant issues. Throwing of money.

This was also the case with iOS 17.3.1 versus 17.4. I think this will remain in the future.

My 14 PM could never stay connected to the WiFi so I quit altogether. Never connect my phone to the WiFi anymore. It was really frustrating after a year and a half.

I’m glad that Apple will be releasing iOS 17.5 because I am still facing a bug with dictation when I put in KZread video titles

On my momma I just got this new iPhone updated it now my wi if messing up keep cutting off and KZread every time ad go off it leave my video in a small screen and then now my top speak not working I hard reset it and it’s still doing

I can never work these reviews out, 15PM on 17.5 b4, and absolutely no problems, my WiFi speeds are identical to the last beta and indeed all previous beta’s and final releases, cell connections are fine as well, I’m also running this beta on my iPad and Apple TV without problem, and battery life is good with 8hrs 56m screen active time and still at 64% The only difference’s I can see is I’m in the UK and use dual sim’s Three and EE, but most of that active time has been on WiFi, with 3 hours on a cell network with a strong connection

How about green screen issues on iPhone 13?

The security response is different type of update from Apple usually very small in size. The iOS updates is what 17.5 falls under so you can leave security response off as well. Generally you don’t need to disable it unless the updates are problematic and you manually want to update it. Most people leave this on by default. You can choose disable both iOS updates and security response they are two different types of updates.

@@artemisXsidecross the main issue isn’t the security responses but the problems are with the major updates like iOS 17.5 and also security response updates can be downgraded if you want while regular iOS updates cannot

I’ll wait. The last time I did an update (17.4.1), messed up my phone so bad, ended up in the Apple Store and they did a factory reset to the rerelease of the 17.4.1 . I’ll wait.

did factory reset help at all? i upgraded my iphone 13 pro to 17.4 and it destroyed my battery performance and hasn't improved at all.

iPhone 14 Pro with all betas I lost 4% from battery health and some lag on the keyboard.

Must say I’m on 15 PM with 17.5. the touchscreens has some issues, with not beeing responsive

Even since iOS 16 came out 2 years ago I’ve find iOS so unreliable and glitchy not good even with iOS 17 not good
