I agree to some extent. Without 8K video recording and still faulty Lidar (especially Center Stage the quality is questionable), Apple just doesn't compete too well against Samsung in the camera sector. However, Apple has had it right since the beginning for security and battery reliability. The big problem with Android phones is the Windows Ecosystem Syndrome (WES), where malware and CPU-draining battery life hardly affect Apple devices. iPhone 13 Pro Max is still rather current tech. I don't plan to upgrade anytime soon, and you'll probably never again see a good iMac 27". The display quality on my 2020 iMac is much better than the iPad Pro. It doesn't get that bright.

The 14pro’s and Max outsold android s23 but the 15 pro and max did not outsell the s24 and that phone has only been out for about 4 months the sells have definitely been going down .. I have both the 14 pro and the s24 and I still love my iPhone way better but I gotta agree I didn’t update because the new features are minimal from the 14 to the 15 besides the usb port it really isn’t worth the upgrade and if the 16 pro / max is the same looking type phone with no real new features this phone most likely won’t sell well either .. just saying I’m team apple tho this is actually an upgrade year for me so I hope and pray 🙏🏽 it is amazing

I'm an Apple user because it integrates well with my computer. But Android has 78% of the phone market share, iOS has 28%. It's not just Apple VS Samsung, it's Apple VS everyone else, and more people are using Android phones than iOS ones.

I have an iPhone 12 and I don't see a need to upgrade. There isn't anything in the newer models that I have to have. Now, with the Apple Watch, if it could track my blood sugar, I'd buy it in a minute.

The AI in the Apple Watch is astounding. As for other Apple products, not so much. What is a neural engine in an iPhone, anyway? I never see it do anything. Maybe it's just a marketing gimmick...

Unfortunately, the only apps that track blood sugar are for android. I've been told that Apple is working on it. Whatever that means. Meanwhile, we're carrying two phones around, watch or not.

For me it’s just get rid of the Dynamic Island.. lame feature. Takes up too much room. The standard UI was better because you get more screen real estate.. which may be why I switch to Samsung after a fight with my wife because she loves everything Apple lol

Having no 8K video on iPhone is the reason why upgrading to iPhone 16 is pointless. It cost double what the iPhone 13 was. $1,100 for 256 GB storage? Horrible. iPhone 13 cost a few hundred bucks less that capacity. I wonder what's going on here? It's not inflation. I guess it's on to trying Samsung Galaxy Ultra S24, but prone to malware is a catch-22 that I don't want to chance.

My iPhone 15 Pro Max does have bugs, but there are two problems with iPhones that should be addressed 1 is customizing app placement on the screen. it’s infuriating to try to adjust your screen because when you get it like you want it and you try to add another app you gotta spend the next two hours fighting with the screen to get things back like you want. 2 is being forced to bounce between screens when you want to type a number or icon. This really shows up when you have to enter credentials. It’s quite infuriating.

It would be better if iPhone could record 8K video. The phone is more than powerful enough to record 12K video, but then I guess Apple left Samsung for the most serious photo and video takers. Maybe Apple doesn't fit the professional camera market, but at least malware on iPhone is extremely rare.

@@techmaesterYeah 8K would look awesome on the majority of people's 4K or 1080p non HDR screens. Only film makers need 8K movie recording, and none of them are making movies on rolling-shutter iPhones.

I will never understand why people want Apple to entice them to upgrade. Isn't it good that you get to keep your current device?

If Apple makes iPhone modular, that would be a major break thru. Take it apart and make a watch, or a screen with a touch pad screen and keypad screen, each piece when connected would alter it’s screen’s functionality. Think of the current iPhone look but disconnect it into 3 pieces seamlessly and the exposed magnetic edge could have a cap cover to protect it from wear

For me and my family we do not need more features and we do not need new design. We need simplification.

I have a 14 pro max… I was less than excited when I got it. It hasn’t given me anything to get excited about. It’s a decent phone. But lord the accessories for it are insanely expensive. It forgets more passwords than you can imagine. And I love that super password feature you put it on a site with your phone your computer doesn’t know it. So you have to put a new password on your computer, your phone doesn’t know it… Why bother? Premium prices demand premium products. This isn’t a Ferrari any more it’s an Oldsmobile. We know what happened to t he rm, don’t we?

Yeah Apple keychain is terrible at saving passwords! I always back them up in Last Pass, which is integrated into the web browser and works way better.

Nothing about Google being furious and nothing about the iPhone 16 reveal = how to lose subscribers.

I think we expect too much from upgrades. Fix what needs it and make incremental improvements, then decide if you can justify the upgrade.

You don't need to upgrade. Here is how it goes: Like to have an Iphone regardless of the price? Okay whats your budget? Cheap? Sure thing google Iphone 12 at about 300 euros on most sites nowadays. Crazy apple fan with lots of money? Buy a 15 pro max 1TB. An iPhone 12 is great for most average people and its only 300 euros on most sites. The 13 costs 600 euro if you want a mid range. You can get a refurbished iPhone 13 pro at the same price of a normal iPhone 13. And you won't even notice its been used before.

I have a 14 pro max and its currently my backup phone and my daily driver is an s24 ultra.

I have a 12 and I’m not upgrading bc it’s basically just a better camera and processor that I currently have no use for

To be fair, I think phone design and function has peaked. It’s hard to make any new significant features at this point be used a new camera. The alternative is an entire reinvention of the smartphone

For a start  could give us an iPhone that will actually play hi res music and put back the headphone jack, not everyone wants to use Bluetooth AirPods etc. even using an  DAC it’s not true hi res.

Perhaps , i dunno , i had that on one of my android phones , do you know how many times i used reverse wireless charging ? Not even once is the answer , personally , i`d rather see a bigger battery , maybe more magsafe tweaks , improved on device interactions , make things that are not intuitive better , make Siri better , smarter for on phone operations.

The design is perfect now.

Still using iPhone 13 Pro Max and still feels like a current model, only because the cameras still cannot record 8K video. Going from 12 to 48 MP on iPhone 15, I would err on the edge of caution on that. The quality looks like a P&S with crammed megapixels. The new iPhone 16 base model at 256 GB storage cost $1,100 USD, which is basically highway robbery.

It lasts longer than that! Phones can last at least 10 years so it’s definitely worth buying if you have a iPhone 11 or something plus they last longer than androids

I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max with a 500 gig hd. Traded in my iPhone X when I got it. I did the 30 month pay off program with AT&T & it’s been paid off for a few months. I used to upgrade my phone every other year, but like you’ve said the phones have only been growing a title bit better incrementally. I’ve been hoping it would become the solid slab of glass like Steve Jobs envisioned, though it seems that vision is taking forever

I want a fold iPhone. They’re taking so long that people are slowly no longer interested in it.

Honestly I have an iPhone 14 Pro and it's nice to keep my phone and not worry about falling behind whereas if the iPhone changes drastically every year I would be compelled to by one every year! I like the fact that it works and works well. The ecosystem is fantastic. No complaints!
