None of my photos disappeared but I’ve still went and done this update lol

Hope this also fixes the nasty CarPlay GPS bug. All GPS apps are unusable in CarPlay despite location settings set to precise. GPS is precise when disconnected from CarPlay

I had a similar problem where when I would add a photo I found on internet by holding it and pressing « add to gallery » it sometimes would not add it and would only appear after an iOS update ! It is mostly with heavy pictures (over 50Mb)… Maybe it is another re-indexing issue but if you have a solution that could help me not having to wait for an ios update to see the photos I downloaded I would be glad !

Will old photo’s go away again when they appeared?

@BrandonButch Did you not experience the notification bug ? The notifications in the notification centre kinda slide off the screen and you cant even clear it unless you clear all notifications? or is it just me ?

My 15 Pro Max sometimes just stars overheating like CRAZY out of nowhere even though I’m not really doing anything, just sitting on social media with no background apps open. It just stars overheating really fast out of nowhere for no apparent reason. This has happened twice since the 17.5 update and I had to turn off my phone and put it on the fridge! It got REAAALLY hot and for what? Posting a comment on Tik Tok and scrolling through Instagram? Is anyone else having this issue?

I had a photo bug, but it wasn't deleted photos reappearing. I had 7 RAW images I took back in October that all the sudden decided they were taken recently and moved to the front of my recent photos. I took other photos that weren't RAW that day, and those were unchanged.

Thanks for the quick update after this iOS release. In my case, never have I saved photos in Files. So this is not the cause in my case. Checked and verified.

The only issue I have been noticing is after updating to iPadOS 17.5, bluetooth would randomly become "unavailable" and disconnect from my headphones. Go back into settings and bluetooth is "unclickable" and says unavailable. Only way to fix is to reboot. Hoping 17.5.1 will fix this, as it's happening somewhat regularly (3x in the last 12 hours).

My ipad is now having issues. YT never plays. Just a black screen. Internet doesn’t connect despite connected to router. Will not allow assess account, just clicks and times out

I think the option was turn off by default. You can go to the settings of the specific workout on the watch and activate the option. I read that it was the solution if I’m not wrong though.

Since that update my iPad(10th. gen) tends to crash a while after opening apps after plugging in an USB stick and using data/media from it.

Can anyone tell me if they experience poor signal on iPhone 15 Pro Max? I’ve had the phone 2 months and I experience buffering all the time watching Tik Tok or KZread,that I didn’t experience with my previous S23 Ultra? Wondering if it’s my specific unit or a known problem with iPhones.

So, do they really store the photos and videos twice in two different locations: in the files app AND in the photos app? This would double the memory consumption for photos and videos on the device. Or is the photo app only storing references to the photos and videos in the files app? This would make totally sense concerning memory consumption and database corruption. And btw when syncing the photos and videos to the iCloud which source would be used: the files app or the photos app? And what about the device's backup in the iCloud? Doesn't this all lead to the conclusion that deleted photos where sent to the iCloud nevertheless?

I also own an Android and I think yes, they do store another copy in your files and it's stored in a hidden folder named ".thumbnail" [you can show hidden folders in the File Manager settings app] which is usually located inside the folder where the photos/videos are stored but they are of low quality but still recognizable (that consumes less than an mb) and it should also be deleted when the original photo/video is deleted. This is still a privacy concern though, I don't know why these apple fans keep on defending the wrongdoings of this company

hope this fix an issue where sometimes when i press the power button to lock the screen.. there will be a second of white flash on my screen. I was on the ios 17.5 with my 15 pro

Everything’s ok but the photos that appeared in my photos library were not at all saved on my iCloud cuz the photos were from a trip me and my fam took in 2021 and each year I download all the photos from iCloud and move them to my ssd . I even double checked if there are any photos of back from 2021 in my files app right now . There’s nothing in my files app except some docs . Also there’s one more thing , some of images which I scanned using iphone and saved them in the notes app got downloaded sequentially in the downloads section of files app . I just noticed it now while checking for those photos that I mentioned earlier .

My photos been loading real slow (quality) and can’t really trim my videos and my phone has been crashing and freezing smh

Very confused on why people care if images you deleted appeared again like just delete them I don’t know if it happened to me didn’t bother checking cause I don’t care and also none of our photos and videos are being saved in files I checked mine and don’t see any of my pictures from photos app in their so not sure what your meaning.

When to apple store today and turns out my iPad motherboard is on its way out it had nothing to do with the iOS 17.5.1

From 17.3 to 17.4 the battery life on my new iPhone 13 has gotten absolutely terrible. And I heard 17.5 was even worse than that… I won’t be updating unfortunately

Battery life is much better after updating to 17.5 in my case. Previously, it was 15% per hour in idle, and now it operates like it did during the first few months. I thought, It couldn't get any worse! :D so I updated it and now it works well.

I’ve a bug in KZread where if I rotate screen it’s a tiny video in the corner

My iPhone home bar isn’t disappearing when I watch KZread now. It happened after the iOS 17.5.1 update

I had another issue the other day that seems to be fixed now. I got a free 3 months of Apple Arcade when I bought my new iPad. I downloaded several of the games. I made an Apple Arcade folder on my iPad. When I dragged the games into that folder they went in there but they were also still on the desktop. If I deleted the one on the desktop it deleted both the one in the folder and the other one. I just had to leave them both places. After today’s .1 update they were just in the folder.i downloaded another Apple Arcade game and moved it onto the folder fine.

Could 17.5 cause an iPad to not want to turn on? Just flash the apple logo? I got it to turn on after trying to hard reset it a few times. I’m updating to 17.5.1 hopefully that fixes it.

Its possible the bug was so rare that no one noticed it with the smaller sample sizes in a beta. Its likely that it required a full rollout with tens of millions of people installing it for anyone to actually experience the glitch and also notice it.

Overheating issues have always been a thing. My iPhoneX had overheating issues, my 12 has overheating issues. Even had overheating warnings pop up saying ‘charging will continue once device cools down’ multiple times.. they ran diagnostics on it, and they claimed they were NO overheating notifications in my analytics. In the summer, have to keep ice packs with me when I’m driving around for work due to my phone lagging so hard from the heat. They always try to blame the cases, even though they’re all otterboxes and apple cases 😂 like okay.. I keep a case on it for a reason. Accident prone doesn’t even come close to describing me 😂😂😂 if i come across a cooling case that’s successful I shall update you 😂👍🏼

How do they get into the files app to begin with? I’ve discovered numerous times, including today after I read about this, screen caps in my downloads folder under the files app that I did not put there. And, yes, they had been deleted from my camera roll. It happens only sometimes and I can’t figure out why. I did not put them there. An article published today says “When you download, share/receive, or take a screenshot (Mainly Safari screenshots) on your iPhone it sometimes (Depending on different factors) saved to both the “Files” and “Photos” app.”

You have to put them there. For example if you long press an image and push download it will go to the downloads folder.

Attention aware feature not working either on iOS 17.5 or 17.5.1 on iPhone 14 Pro. Alarms, calls etc won’t lower the ring volume once you look at the screen as it used to on previous iOS versions.

Since I updated to 17.5 my app library was all over the place all my apps were sorted to the “Other” category. Now with this 17.5.1 update the problem was fixed and my apps are organized as usual. Just thought i will mention it in case anyone had the same problem.

Some other corruption happened here 2m ago and 99% of my Keynote slides disappeared.. Hundreds of slides, thousands of designs simply wiped..

I understand that you make videos for every single iOS version (and I love it!), but it's still weird watching almost 7 minute vid about one bug fix 🥴
