yes, specially in the occasion of a data breach, and people can start using your avatar (with real voice!) for scams or even deepfake pornography.

Screen Distance sounds like a *wonderful* way to annoy your far-sighted friends and relatives by enabling it on their phones when they're not around :D

i believe samsung still have this feature. last time i use note 10 plus before move to iphone 14 PM my note 10 have standby mode.

I think the FaceTime video message, Live Voicemails, and Check-In messages are three pretty solid new features for iOS to receive. And that laundry tag feature is something that I don't think is all that important, but is fascinating to play around with every now and then

I think it's redundant. I've been sending video messages though imessage forever so sending it through FaceTime is just overkill. I guess the "Check-in" feature is okay but that's it 🤷🏼‍♂️

For those wondering, the Personal Voice feature in this video at 5:53 isn't available on the 2020 iPhone SE (second generation iPhone SE) as I can't find it on my own phone. Yes, my iPhone is on iOS 17.0.1. I guess I'll update my iPhone 13 Pro Max.

I had low expectations when I clicked on this video knowing it’s WSJ. I immediately got hooked by Joanna’s energy.

I like Joanna, she has a really good sense of humor!

Most of these are decades old features, I'm glad apple finally gets the updates

I couldn't agree more on the screen distance. I got the prompt a bunch, and ultimately turned it off. I think it's useful, but apparently I just use my phone too close all the time LOL

My biggest fear would be my wife changing the voice in my maps app to her voice. Instead of Siri saying "Turn right in 300 feet" it would say, "why didn't you turn back there? Now we are going to be late, slow down, why do you drive so aggressive?!" No thanks.

My hope is Siri will finally become smart and useful.... I doubt that will happen before iOS 100.

I want to say just Siri into my AirPods and HomePod and they can't even do that yet.
