Depending on how loyal of a fan you are probably determines how much you like the show. They made some pretty heavy changes for NO reason. If you truly love the story as one of the best of all time...the show will make you uncomfortable at best. Its cool to see the action animated but they are ruining the story. Edit. It's not ALL bad. The writers make some unnecessary changes but so far, they seem inconsequential.

Great timing since I just finished this. Never expected Invincible to be my favorite run ever! So many amazing character arcs and the scale of the universe-building is insane. I own the hardcover compendiums from Skybound and the “Complete Library” which are unnecessary but that’s how great this comic is. Ultimate Editions for oversized art look great too. Your channel has the best recommendations since I would have never read this if it wasn’t for NMC, keep up the great content!

I’m currently on book 6 and I love this series! It is such a fun read!

Invincible is my book of the year so far im gutted its finished as it could of went on longer as the ending seemed rushed to me. hope you and the ladys do it on old reader new reader one day Omar

Kirkman was just ready to move on, unfortunately. I miss it every time I look at my hardcovers. The only solace is the fact that Ottley moved onto Amazing Spider-Man.

This is one of those series that I never paid too much attention to, but thank to Gabe and you now I feel o gotta read. Thanks for the great overview once again, Omar!

These are currently sitting in my basket to get! So good that they remain in print! !!!

Couldn't agree more about the plot twists. It really kept me going on with the story. I also feel bad for eve throughout. Really love it and just finished it a few days ago.

Love the series! One of the best comics ever. Sad it ended. I would buy and read the issues monthly and then buy the Hardcover to re-read, display on my shelf and check out all the extras.

After mentioning that I finished this series last week...you make an overview video for the entire Ultimate Collection!? You rock bro! I did want to recommend to you or anyone that reads the series to listen to Divebomb by End of Silence and just play it on loop. It's now my own personal theme music for Invincible now lol. Also got Astounding Wolf Man, Tech Jacket, and Guarding the Globe for my complete Invincible reading order, just missing Invincible Universe, Brit, and Invincible Presents!

This comic series is what got me into hardcover collection and getting back into comics period....aaaand got a little obsessed and collector OCD. Own all 12 hardcovers, all 3 soft cover compendiums, the 3 hardcover compendiums, the 3 library editions with slipcovers they never finished aaand the entire run in floppies with a 9.2 graded 1st issue....my wife was not pleased. But it's not drugs so 😁

Yeah, addiction makes you do crazy things....like buy the lame action figures that are weirdly between GI Joe size and Marvel legend size..wish Mcfarlane would of done the characters...that would of been AMAZING

Dude I freaking love this run 🔥🔥🔥🔥 definitely earns its spot in anybody's top 10 best comic runs. And I read this once for the first time about a year ago and the fact that I still remember all the major shit that went down as you flipped those pages says alot. And you get so caught up in these characters and the story. The action is awesome although it was unnerving at first to see all the graphic shit like eyeballs exploding and alla that and tbh don't really like seeing that type of stuff but eventually it grew on me and I just went with it lol. Also gonna say it but Allen and Mark are probably one of the best friendships in comics next to Peter and Harry or Steve and Bucky. Yup I'm saying that. But so many crazy shit happens to many characters that you grow to care about. Like what happens to Mark's brother and dad tore me up and also a quick fuck you to Robot for what he did too lol. But yeah man that ending also got me as well and brings everything full circle.

Thanks, great review! Just ordered 7-12, can’t wait to finish it! I just wish they would have done something better with the images on the spines.

Still have to finish this series. Previously owned all 12 OHCs and then decided to sell them in favor of the hardcover compendiums. A lot less shelf space taken up and I really like the build of the compendiums (although they are standard size trim). Still it made room on my Image shelf! Thanks for this overview. Hope to finish this series ASAP on my list of to read books!

Skybound store (ie Kirkman’s store). Outside of that eBay is your only choice.

I have these, my favourite comic series of all time... however... volume 9 has always to this date bugged me because Of the red writing instead of yellow...

Near Mint Condition so far from what I’ve read it’s amazing. For me I think this is one I my favorite series to be honest. I love it for the characters, with Mark and his supporting cast, the book really makes you enjoy and care about everyone, I feel like that’s what this book is all about is these characters and seeing them grow and go through things together throughout the series. For me I enjoy the villains, but it’s the characters’ relationships that drive the book for me and is the heart of it all.

I was going to get these but decided to go with the compendiums so I could save some money. Great vid tho, man!

I've got the whole set like you. Back in 2011 or 12. Crabtree and Ottley were at Boston Comic Con. They were selling pages on the cheap. I grabbed three. One being Rex crushing one of those octopus/brain aliens in the shower. Which is framed. Vol 6 issue 70. Yes I just looked for it.

@@NearMintCondition so I read the first book, and I gotta say, while it's a good comic, I fail to see how this book is so hyped. The art is fine, the characters are fine. I did like it, but it's nothing that wowed me. I prob will pick up the 2nd volume at some point, but I am def in no rush to so so.

I have the first 13 TPB that were published here in Mexico in spanish but that was it, it wasn't that popular so they didn't continue. So i saw this HC and got Volume 7 which was where it continued, sadly they are pretty expensive or not available in Amazon where i can get them, so i'm probably only getting volume 8 and then the Compendium Vol 3 to finish the whole thing, hopefully in time i can get all 12 HC cause i really love the series, best superhero comic in the universe!

I really gotta read this! Been on my list for a long time. I only watched about half this video as I Didn't wanna be spoiled, haha. More than enough to know I have to finally read it.

Great Video! I was going to buy these too but they super expensive like around $400 for all the books (all at once). Plus some of them were oop. I just read them digitally before I watched the show coz I didn't want to the show to spoil it.

I Bought the library editions and they stopped at volume 3 which is around issue 70 so only half the series. I was not happy so now considering buying the 3 compendiums.

One of the best superhero stories outside DC and Marvel. My only complaint is that I wish the compendiums were hardcover omnis.

I got volume 1 recently but mine had the dust jacket art work underneath the dust jacket instead of the solid black hardcover.

I have 3 out of these 12 books and i dont know why, the second came not in black it came with the dust jacket but it was not black under it, it was the same print as on the jacket

i just finished the run and need new recommendations. i’ll miss invincible

The show got me into wanting these I’m late to the party but let’s go

I have ultimate volumes 4 to 7 that I found in a Half Price Books should I just invest in compendiums 1 and 3 (at around 30 bucks online) to get the whole story? Each Ultimate volume is like 20 bucks at HPB. TIA and keep up the good work my man.

I don't care for the Walking Dead either but I've never been a fan of dark or horror stories. But I can still sympathize with Omar and the looks you get when people find out you are not a fan of the series. I just recently gave Invincible a shot (thanks to my local library having these on the shelves) and I do like this series from Kirkman. Only on the third book so far but there are so many twists and turns already. Glad to hear it ended because I do think some of these series tend to go on too long.

I bought all 1-12 in November. 1-5 & 7 hardbacks are the same as the dust jacket. 6, 8-9 are a black blank with invincible indented into the hardcover… is this because of two different prints? I like the first half that’s all the same as the dust jacket. Would it be worth returning to Amazon and requesting a newer version? I have a little bit of ocd but idk

im confused bc my invincible ultimate volume 4 hard cover has the same cover as the dust jacket but all my other ones are black Edit: my vol 2 also has the cover printed on but his doesn’t I’m so confused

awesome video. Wondering how much bigger the hard is with the these Ultimate versions vs the Compendiums. Looked at the book dimensions and the Ultimates seem to be about an inch bigger but I can't tell if that's just cause of the hardcover that's making it taller. Thoughts?

@@NearMintCondition new follow up question: My volume 1 is black underneath it’s cover like your’s in the video, but my volume 2 it’s printed the same on the book as it is on the cover. Is there a reason for this? A new print or Canadian version? 🤔
