I don't agree with the sales part ,true everyone is here to sell you something or the other but that is true for any shopkeeper or any business man & same promotion strategy is used everywhere but coming from investment banking & insurance background I can say that I have never mis - sold insurance which 90% of people do & as far as fee is involved so they are providing you service so there's no harm in paying commission because insurance is always a push product but no one should sell it as an investment scheme which majority of them are doing..

Also research is required to invest in MF & they have fund manager who are doing it so harm in parting with a small amount ,so also in equity which requires more regular tracking if not for long term....so the fee is legitimate only drawback is ethics which people lack nowadays

Also please stop blaming school for everything you did not learn in life ...how much can you expect to learn in school as if children are already not cribbing enough about school syllabus but I think schools have been teaching basics of maths like interest ,compound interest , percentage,data interpretation...ratio proportion,profit loss ,how sale price is increased & discounted to make profits....what more do you want ....these are applied studies ...one needs to use their brains to apply it in life but today everyone is complaining.... high school is supposed to introduce you to all imp areas of life so that you have general idea about the topic or subject later you have choice of selecting your subject for higher or indept study ...so it's high time we stop blaming school ... half of the time these students are not even attentive in classes

The dynamic is different when it’s financial products. It’s very upsetting to see most people mis-selling financial products in the current market. Also as for the mutual funds, regular funds have twice the fee as direct funds, when compounded over long periods like 15-20 years this difference can be as high as 30-40%. Don’t believe me, use an online mutual fund returns net-fees calculator and see for yourself.

The average salary of mutual fund manager is 6 to 7 corore yearly despite mutual fund gives positive or negative returns, ur opinion

Stock market investing teaches you a lot of things and widens your thought process. So it’s totally worth stock picking. You need that passion to continue. For an average Joe, mutual fund is sufficient.

Bhai, jab investor size mei chota hota hai, tab risks lena aur bhi afford nahi karta. In fact this is when primary focus has to be to take optimal risk and focus on raising active income. There is a reason why startups aur hedge fund investments mei ₹1cr ki minimum size hoti hai. Sab woh risk nahi le sakte, islie. So when an amount like ₹45,000 matters to someone, don’t you think uss insaan ne appropriate risk lena chahiye naa ki mindlessly IPO mei apply kare?
