This video shows how to win Invasion Mode. Put simply, don't waste gems. Pick up any that drop, and go straight to the Aries. Do this with a good team, and you'll have a good chance at winning. The main problem is, most people aren't good teammates. Many people waste gems upgrading lower tier ships, and then quit after they die once on wave 2 or 3. If you want to be a good teammate, start by not quitting until you've lost all your lives, and the game makes you leave.
