I'm glad you said OCD can traumatize you. So glad. Because that's exactly what it's done to me but I wasn't sure if I was traumatized or just going insane.

I personally think this is what I’m going through. 2 weeks now, the thoughts still come but it feels like I’m just remembering them now. I feel almost no anxiety anymore, neither any backdoor spike, I think subconsciously/compulsively I am trying to keep myself in the OCD cycle because I’m so used to it at this point. It’s truly does feel like I am forcing myself into some kind of forever penance for what my brain has thought of all this time.

@@Blodreina45I have this too, delay your ruminations and compulsions, like okay OCD I will do compulsions but later like in one hour or tomorrow, do it until your ocd is tired of waiting and they'll become irrelevant day by day and they'll pass, but be ready the thought may come in any time.

same , I've hocd and sometimes it feels like i intentionally repeating the intrusive thoughts or voice s in my mind when I'm with same gender people. i think that my mind started to differentiate between the thoughts and reality. but sometimes it get hard to trust ourselves especially when we r in happy mood and the thoughts still pop up in mind at that time i sometimes i felt like i am happy because of thoughts

How has your anxiety subsided? Are you in treatment, and then you're not sure how to deal with the lack of OCD symptoms?

You know OCD so deeply and completely and it is so helpful to hear your insights. Question: are you suggesting to not tell therapist your themes either, or just other people in your everyday life? I'm not in therapy because i have avoided it for years - too terrifying to initiate - so i tell my thoughts to my brother but he (correctly, as he was instructed by an OCD therapist) won't listen anymore because he was told he would be enabling me and that I'm just seeking reassurance. Does that mean I'm alone with these thoughts? They're so terrifying and i can't tell anyone because no one really wants to listen to them, or even if they did, are you saying i shouldn't unveil them to others EXCEPT in treatment?

I am really glad I found your channel. I tend to fall into this OCD whirl, but after four years of therapy I finally manage to observe this when it happens. Still got a lot of work to do though. Thank you and greetings from Athens Greece

Hi. So I have been going to therapy thru NOCD for about 7 months and my therapist has helped me SO much with another of my OCD obsessions that I'm dealing with now. Harm OCD, contamination with thoughts, etc. But she never asked me how it started. And it was with sexual intrusive thoughts and I feel like I'm not telling the truth in therapy even though she never asked me..😢 everything you are talking about I feel and I'm feeling like can I share this with her?? I'm so embarrassed.

Don’t be embarrassed! You don’t have to feel like you’re lying. Just keep up with your therapy! You got this!

Of course you can dear, not feeling like you can tell her because of judgment is also part of the OCD monster. Trust me whatever thoughts you may have, people have already shared with their therapist. Don't let OCD get in the way of your recovery ❤

Please talk about the impact of the hocd in people who are virgin, that never dated and that before hocd they were so convinced their sexuality I am a virgin girl, ever rejected by boys I loved and got interest on, I never dated but ever been so genuinely convinced that I am straight even got no experience on romantic relationship but ever feel that will to be with a man 😢😢😢😢

And that's one of the things that makes OCD tell me to do the compulsion again because of the compulsion I've done before. So it's like a neverending loop. All we need is to be brave to stop compulsion so the thought gets more irrelevant day by day until it fades away, but get ready cuz the thought can come back to make you feel anxious again.❤
