SolidWorks Flow Simulation takes the complexity out of Computational Fluid Dynamics. You can quickly and easily simulate liquid and gas flow, heat transfer, and fluid forces that are critical to the success of your design.
In this webcast Applications Engineer, Matthew Fordham gives an introduction to the fundamentals of Flow Simulation in SolidWorks, as applied to Medical Products.

For anyone having difficulty with the lid part of the video and getting an error that reads "Flow Simulation Error - Face is not laying on the boundary between solid and fluid region.", put the model in cross section form and press the inner face of the lid. He mentions it in the video but when he presses the model it looks as if he pressed the outer face (he didnt) which is what actually renders the error.
Thank you Matthew for your time and expertise.
Fantastic presentation. Well done!
thank you soo much, am new in solidworks and I am looking forward to learning more from your knowledge.
Thanks! Great Tutorial! I believe the reason the nozzle helped mix your fluids was because when it accelerated the flow, it increased the Reynolds number and brought the flow from laminar into the turbulent flow regime. Turbulent flow will offer much more mixing than laminar flow. Does Solid Works Flow calculate Reynolds numbers? Or is that more of a "bulk" fluid number that doesn't make sense to calculate for individual fluid elements.
Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing! My only request is a few configuration iterations on mesh development.
Very nice! I hope to be able to analyze similar structure for combination of gas.
This was brilliant. Thank you so much!
very good explanation and presentation. Can you explain about super sonic flows on boundary layers, and how to set up the mesh properly.
Thank you for the great tutorial, Do you have any tutorial about heat transfer (radiation) through multi-layers wall
very well explained! Thanks for sharing.
It's very helpful. Thanks yoiu so much!!!
thank you very much, that's so helpful
is possible to use the simulation on an assembly?
This is very useful...thank you very much!
Thank you this was very helpful
I think is because your model is not enclosed properly. Not sure though. Are you running the Flow Simulation in an assembly part?
Question: What if the inlet flow relies on pressure? For example i have a model which has a compressor that will supply air into nozzles. What if the initial condition of the model requires pressure but not flow rate? What should i do?
same problem no idea what to do did you figure it out yet?
Great video, Thanks.
can you do a heat transfer tutorial on heatexchnger plz
i customized my menu and added flow simulation but i did something ( reset to factory defaults i guess) that i cannot find the flow simulation option the next time even in the customize option. where and how can i find flow simulation option. please help me

this is because no install flow simulation option when installed the products of SolidWorks. Re install the solidworks agin and activate the flow simulation option through the install
Should do a study of an Innova disc golf disc. "Hello, Innova here doing a study on Innova."
Hi Just wandered if you are still around and are you able to help?? Mike
Awesome!!
Its very helpfull thank you so much
Please tell me, why after clicking run simulation, program reports that monitor cannot connect to solver. What can it be? Thanks in advance.

This is because the your computer has low space RAM> This is problem also happened with me
I am interested in simulation, can you help me make a horizontal centrifugal casting simulation tutorial, using the SolidWorks application. thank you🙏
User level - God!
很棒!!
it's great
Nope I am trying to run it on my sld part file
thnx
For some reason I can't get the water to flow to all parts of my model. It only really flows in the main pipe but not the lateral pieces.

Check your gap sizes in your mesh settings so that the solver recognizes that there is indeed a "hole" or branch. Or check your trajectory sizes.

@@bartleycai2759 Thanks soo much Bartley! I'll that is most likely an issue I need to pay more attention to. I'll continue to refine the design and test the results.
Great
The best
Just a little comment. If you add 1 g/s of water and 0,1 g/s of etanol, the volume fraction you would try to achive is 0,1/1,1 = 0,091 and not 0,1.
thank you soo much, am new in solidworks and I am looking forward to learning more from your knowledge.
