Introduction to Corporate Finance Class (Short)
This is a short introduction to my corporate finance class and it lays out the three key perspectives that underlie it. First, it is a big picture class that looks at every decision made in a business as a corporate finance decision. Second, it is an applied class, since I have little patience for theory for the sake of theory. Third, it is designed to be used on real companies in real time. In my biased view, it is a class that can be useful to everyone in business, no matter what discipline you work in. The class is scheduled to start on February 1, 2021 and end on May 10, 2021. (Sorry if I said 2020 in the video, but 2020 is proving really hard to let go).

The fact that this and his other valuation courses are free is BEYOND me. I’m not complaining though! Thank you Aswath!
Aswath, the knowledge you spread around the platform is as valuable as finance is complex. I am really grateful and I hope you're doing well in this pandemic. Wish you the best!

Consider the following two, completely separate, economies. The expected return and volatility of all stocks in both economies is the same. In the first economy, all stocks move together-in good times all prices rise together and in bad times they all fall together. In the second economy, stock returns are independent-one stock increasing in price has no effect on the prices of other stocks. Assuming you are risk-averse, and you could choose one of the two economies in which to invest, which one would you choose? Explain. Answer: 5: Consider an economy with two types of firms, S and I. S firms all move together. I firms move independently. For both types of firms, there is a 60% probability that the firms will have a 15% return and a 40% probability that the firms will have a -10% return. What is the volatility (standard deviation) of a portfolio that consists of an equal investment in 20 firms of (a) type S, and (b) type I? Answer:
