Introduction to Business Process Management (BPM) from an experienced transformation executive

A brief introduction to Business Process Management (aka BPM) from an experienced transformation executive and certified lean six sigma black belt.
One of the easiest ways to understand how a business operates is to take a look under the hood at it's processes. This gives us insight into how things work, and how to make improvements for better efficiency and effectiveness. BPM combines the understanding of process with technology and people to enable step-change improvements with multiple benefits.
In this episode, we explore the basics of what BPM is, why it's so important, and how we use it in business (including global best practices, such as workflow management, robotic process automation, and artificial intelligence technologies).
This sets the foundation for future episodes on various aspects of BPM and process improvement.

@@risrcareers I would definitly watch the next video. I'm a complete newbie on BPM, but im going to use this in my thesis about recruitment to improve a recruitment proces. The most usefull model is the People, Process and technology and for sure im going to build my questionars around those topics Keep up the great work!

@@davidvalkenburg7327 Hey David. How did you do? Were you able to prove your thesis in practically and get it implement? I work in HR as a process manager and I have an overhaul of work to do to push for a process centric mindset in my org
I keep confused with BPR

Do you mean Business Process Re-engineering (vs Business Process Management)? If so, re-engineering usually means “improvement”, whereas BPM is more holistic (broader). I hope that helps 😉

@risrcareers4046 so, let say we try to compare with other methodologies for easier classification, BPR is a focused methodology similar to Lean and Six Sigma Whereas BPM is broader philosophy similar to Total Quality Management (TQM)? Is it like that?
Your presentation has not used words/concepts like: Business Model Business Structure Clarity Transparency Internal systems Alignment for Flow Business Health, Organisational Healing Constraints Change escalation Focus Mastery Business connections Purpose and Outside-in measures Excellence Risks and Revenue and so on ...
