I was there that day...I traveled alone to N.O. and stood alone in the back, until everyone around started dancing as I've never experienced before at a Bruce concert, and suddenly I was surrounded by kindred spirits and we were all dancing...there was a spirit there that day that I had never experienced before and have never experienced again.

@@timoconnor8520 he still puts on great shows. If anything his voice is better now. The band misses Clarence and Dan but still the tightest Rock and Roll band you’ll find anywhere

I heard Jazz, Second Line, Rock, Blues, Zydeco and Gospel...Springsteen is a musical genius...brought all these genres together to show that music is universal. Genre means belonging to the same "family" and thus has the same origins. Everyone can relate to this...best rendition of this song I ever heard…they don't call him "The Boss" for nothing...

He's called the "Boss" 'cause in the 70ies he used to pay his band members in cash after the performance, that's the real reason. However, I fully agree with you: best rendition of this song ever! Bruce is quite a genius.

Would have been an amazing experience...and the memory will be with you forever... My married son's and their wives have been to his concerts when he's toured Australia.. I have been a Springsteen Fan since the 70's and have seen him perform live several times. I can't believe I had never heard of this song or this Jazz Genre collaborative with The Session Players. This is sheer musical perfection with eighteen musicians playing their hearts out. Even though Bruce is a musical superstar, you can see his admiration for all of the other musicians, especially the fiddle player and pianist. He seems so happy here performing and being a part of this great group of musicians. Bravo!

Good grief, I envy you! Concert tickets are so expensive, €300.- (incl. hotel & breakfast). I'm a fervent admirer of him, too, and he's still so much down to earth, just brilliant, this guy!

I woke up and saw this performance on the TV 15 years ago in the middle of the night. was like a spiritual awakening. downloaded the song and play it still when I need some "church" in my life.

Man., I remember winging this song at St. Louise (catholic school in Bellevue, WA) back in the '60's. Loved it then, but now I'm seriously stoked by this version. Molto grazie, Bruceeee! 😃

I remember leaving the NEC, Birmingham with my wife and saying to her that I'd never seen a better show and that even includes many with the legendary E Street Band and Bruce solo.

Tears still swell up in me when I watch this and other segments of this show. We all cried and hugged that Jazzfest - just so happy to see that old friends survived and came back. The 2006 Jazzfest was one of the most emotional and joyous experiences I've ever had.

Perhaps the most amazing of all the Boss shows I've seen (and I've seen more than a few) was the Sessions Band show in 06. The pure, unadulterated musical joy that emanated from the stage was captivating, and even though it wasn't even sold out (now THAT is a rarity with him) those that were there had a magical night. Say what you will, the boy has some real chops...

I WISH he could do something for Mexico Beach, FL now. It's been like 8 months & they're just now getting the debris cleaned up, to start at Square One, after Hurricane Michael. It's been our vacation town for over 25 yrs. Everyone says, You need to just find somewhere else to go, but we don't WANT to go anywhere else!!

@@peggygibbons479 Hang tough - they said New Orleans should move, but we didn't. Clear out a campground, set up some stages and have a festival for Mexico City Beach. That stretch of the Florida is one of the most beautiful in America. Keep on going!

@@1blastman Thank you SO MUCH and you are right! The most beautiful, safe little stretch of beach! I never thought twice about letting my daughter & her friends walk the beach at midnight. No high rises, no crime! We took so many of my daughter's friends with us, through the years and it was beach, eat, nap, eat, beach, fish, eat, play cards, sleep. That's about it! LOL

@@peggygibbons479 My In-laws have a beach house in Port St. Joe near Cape San Blas, my wife and I honeymooned there after Hurricane Elena hit there in 1985, and we've been going back ever since. We always thought Mexico City Beach was a rare place where time stood still and was just like it was in the 1950's. After the storm in October, my son and some of his company workers were down there helping with rebuilding the dunes, but there was so much Florida red tape that he brought his crew home. Part of the problem is the Florida state government rules and regulations can't make exceptions for extreme emergencies. Hope they wake up and do the right thing.

@@1blastman That is SAD! People trying to help and getting pushed out. We have some friends that had a condo at Mexico Beach for like 40 years, but now the man is 80 and they have so many new rules for rebuilding, he said he thinks he's just giving the lot to his kids & saying Do the best you can do with it. So may of the homeowners were in their 70s, 80s and even 90's and they just don't have it in them to start over from literal SAND!

Oh my!!! Way to go BOSS!!!!!
