The Tuner, by Module 8, is a revolutionary optical device that enables standard lenses and mirrorless digital cameras to recreate the look and feel of some iconic vintage glass such as the famous Super Baltars and Canon (R) K-35’s. Its World Wide Patent Pending technology, Vari-Look, enables The Tuner to do something never done before…emulate classic lenses and give you the manual control to adjust the strength of their look.

Truly we have come full circle in lens design. From engineering the most optically perfect and sharp to now this, a device that undoes all of that. What a crazy world 2023 is.

What an incredibly innovative solution! I love the size and economical choice of the rear glass design, but I would also be interested in a front glass adapter. Totally understand it would be more expensive, but then you wouldn't be limited by the camera or lens choices. Regardless, it's a stunning achievement!
You guys are BREAKING THE GAME, my god that's incredible !
These look great! Unfortunately my Z Cam E2 doesn’t have a lens mount this will work with. And any chance of making a video showing a bunch of with clips shot with and without the adapters in different environments? I would love to see how much change they make to the look.
You know this is a big deal when Moment brought the “A” Team in to do the launch 👍🏻 Remarkable glass!
Reminds me of the Arri V filters. Taking optically nearly perfect lenses and adding imperfections and (retro) character to it
Hey will they work with Zeiss Milvus Ef mount ? And how do the effect of the adapter looks like on f4 or 5.6 ? Thanks!
So unique! I’m excited for this one!

Where can I see some before/after and different strength frames to compare? images on kickstarter are low-res and couldn't tell the difference that much...
Amazing! Unfortunately there isn’t a Fuji mount version… will buy if they become available.
This is definitely super cool. I found a lot of luck using the metabones speedbooster for MFT cameras (most recently with the GH6) paired up with vintage Nikon primes. You get an extra stop of light plus all the characteristics of an old lens. It's not variable like yours is but it definitely brings its own look using actual vintage glass. Pretty awesome to see camera and glass technology develop! I can't imagine the creators of 60s and 70s Japanese Nikkor lenses seeing their glass paired with a pocket size cinema camera with IBIS and ridiculous resolutions. What will the future hold for us now?
THIS IS STUPIDLY AMAZING!!! I'M EXCITED!!
The idea is amazing. But the price tag for such a device probably puts it outside for a lot of people. To choose between a better lens or a filter? I think the choice is easy, lens.
Im so interested to see version 3 paired with there anamorphic adapter.
which EF lenses would you recommend to use with SONY bodies for this tuner? looking to retain the autofocus if possible
I just have a really quick question, having the fx30 right now, with this Tuner does it allow me to use FE mount lens on it as well? Or just the EFmount and, etc..

Hey Moment Team, Another great product on KS! Some questions: 1) on your compatibility list, did not see the A7S3 and A74. Since they’re E-mount, I’m presuming it is supported but want to make sure 2) did not see on list of EF lenses: Are the EF 16-35/4, 70-200/2.8 iii (only saw ii), and 85/1.4 supported? Hope these lenses are supported 3) So I shoot both Sony A7S3 and A74 as well as Canon R5 and 5C, but haven’t used vintage and anamorphic lenses so newbie with these looks. I use CineMatch to match the colors if I mix the two cameras on some projects. I’m planning on getting 2 or 3 vari tuner adapters. Since I have two different mounts (E and RF), I’m not sure how which look to get for each mount. Too expensive to get all, 3 looks for each mount is 6 adapters. Any suggestions on the combos (look + mount) since you worked on both Sony e-mount and Canon rf-mount cameras.

I think the biggest challenge ya'll will face is convincing people to drop $2,000 on an adapter for EF glass that actively degrades the image... That is preposturously expensive. And I'm not even a hater, I like seeing Moment's growth... But this...this is tough to watch.
"subtle" it looks like it went from greasy finger prints to vaseline.
Would love to rent this item first, before I commit to purchase.
There should be an E to E mount for this one.. Imagine making all the boring G-lenses much better...With auto focus.. oh lord...
😮
So it's basically a 1000$ Mist Filter, did I sum that up correctly?
These need bayonets that are interchangable for different mounts wherever possible. That could be an incredible unlock for multi-body shooters.

brb going back in time to get you part of our launch video
There’s something call mist filter tho
L1 just makes everything blurrier with lower contrast. Vaseline on your lens seems cheaper
i hate to say this but for the price, why would i get this over a stack of Tiffen filters? They seem to be doing a similar thing to what you guys are doing for a fraction of the price and it just seems needlessly expensive. also there are brands like Aurora making drop in filters for adapters like the Sigma MC-21 for a behind-the-lens solution. For the price this is certainly DOA.
Please do more scientific, controlled tests, like Geralt Undone. 1000 bucks is too much for not tested equipment.
If these were pl mount I’d be all over them.

Voice over is familiar
What makes anyone think that lenses didn't used to be sharp? What's going on here? It looks like Moment has launched a kickstarter for a product that makes your modern lens look like...a bad lens!
That's exactly how my old Nikon lenses look when at f1.4. Like, exactly, I'm looking at it in another screen as I type this because I am in disbelief. I remember thinking "These are soft" and would barely go below f4 after witessing that. You're telling me people want to pay for something like this? On purpose? Just because the guy says they modeled it after the K-35s? The K-35s are an indusry standard because of the beautiful micro-contrast that gives it so much depth, and the way their specific coating renders skin-tones and color. The softness and aberration and the artifacts is something that looks great in contrast with the level of detail they provide, but you made a product focused solely on the imperfections of the lens, and those imperfections are exaggerated and bleed into the focused areas? This is horrible.
To achieve this result, simply apply a small amount of oil or butter on the camera boom 💥 You'll obtain the same outcome without needing to spend money on lens 😅
you had me going,.. up until that 60 second mark when you said $50k per jawn... yikes.. damn film gear..
