Honestly, from start to finish, something about Heaven just felt _off_ to me. The completely empty walk up to the Gates, the vacant, doll-like behavior of the Angels (among whom was Angel Dust's sister!) when the higher-ups were around, the confusion from the assembly in the courtroom when they were posed some very _fundamental_ questions... clearly, _someone's_ hiding _something_ up there.

And the fact that there are angels that are ment to keep people happy? In hell it's not like the hellborn make the sinners miserable, they just make themselves by virtue of being there, shouldn't be the same case in heaven? Or is it something that would go bad if the angels weren't doing it?

I get the feeling that "God" is actually more of a cosmic force in this universe than a sapient being (as we know it). Which is a really fascinating spin on things, and not just because I'm an atheist who thinks the idea of a congenial creator being is ridiculous bullshit.

@dirac_dydx1830 There's evidence pointing to the Seraphim being the highest-ranking Angels in the _Hazbin_ cosmology, such as Sera being the one overseeing the world-building project and making the call to begin the Exterminations -- it's not a straight adaptation of the Old Testament, and in fact diverges from the text in several key ways (Adam, for example, apparently never ate the Fruit of Knowledge, which would certainly explain his immaturity and general idiocy -- he hasn't changed a _bit_ since Eden). That said, there's also evidence to suggest there _is_ some other power at play. Sera's secrecy notwithstanding, there's been trace mentions of a character lurking somewhere in Hell whose presence there predates Lucifer's arrival -- his giving Eve the Fruit didn't _create_ evil, it just allowed it into Earth, meaning that the cosmological embodiment of evil that was briefly shown in the intro (opposite a mirrored embodiment of _good)_ was already active from before the first humans were added. We don't have much more than a name and a general title, though: *Roo, the Root of Evil.*

Well the exterminations were secret. The doll like behaviour of exorcists is because they cover up the right eye... Supresses affection. If that is what you refer to. Also the whole court meeting is illogical to be allowed to happen. No way ppl from hell would not mention extermination in front of a court

So fun random fact: Alex Brightman who voices Sir Pentious, was at a panel recently when one of the other VA's there decided to quote Sir Pentious's "Hey so I see the club has a sex room, so I was thinking maybe you would a do a sex with me." Alex Brightman immediately got embarrassed, squirmed and crawled into his couch laughing. Other VA's there were laughing at his reaction. Was so funny! Oh and the voice actor for Valentino is such a sweetheart and has an insane singing voice. He plays the bad guy but I love him. I wont say anything in case of spoiling for new guy(sorry im bad at remembering names at first). But I totally get ADHD issues, if you have meds I'd take them for next 2 episodes lol. Your right so much lore is going to be packed in. Season 2 is being developed as we speak so even though its just 2 more episodes to go maybe only a year or so left before next season!

there's a lot to unpack in this one. A lot of people correctly guessed Vaggie was an exorcist from the x on her eye and the spear she carries. But its caused confusion on whether Vaggie is a winner (human turned angel) or heavenborn. I hope Viv clears that up. I love Cherri Bomb. Sir Pentious' crush on her is _so_ adorable and _so_ sad. He cannot spit it out. Angel standing up to Val and Niffty ripping his wings (yes he's a moth) was so satisfying.

Since Carmilla named all the exprcists "sisters" and Adam sais he named all of them, I think they were heavenborn, not even exactly born the way the cherubs are more like made

@@bdariamihaela But before and after the pilot, Vaggie was given some backstory. She lived in El Salvador and died in 2014. On the show, she still speaks Spanish and is more human looking. The question now is, was the story we were given still hold up? Was Vaggie a winner who was able to join the army and Adam just gave her the new name when she showed her prowess? As for the sisters comment, I never took that literally. I think Carmilla meant it as "sisters in comradery", not actual relation. I was in a female youth group when I was younger and we called each other sisters. I'm sure its more like that.

It is possible he did in fact name her, after all Lute's name support his claim, but it's not proven just because Adam says it. But yeah I'm on the side of Vaggie being heaven-born like Charlie is hellborn. There are contradictions like the Spanish accent that's not shared by other exorcist (but Camilla has it though and since she looks a lot like Vaggie it's possible that it's still an angel feature if Camilla reveals herself to be a fallen angel, but we don't know that right now) which hints at her being human, or as mentioned the previous backstory although its canonicity is in doubt.

Viv has come out that some old lore has been changed as the show grew, including Vaggie's origins. She was a sinner at first. Viv says she likes how muddy lore is at the moment cause it keeps people guessing and theorizing. I think she even mentions how some things even said may not be true, so until it comes out in the show we don't know.

@@bdariamihaela It`s pretty much confirmed in the fancomics that the Exorcists were all "Winners"(In other words like how the "Sinners" are humans who fucked up on Earth, the "Winners" are the exact opposite, human souls who were so virtuous or at least repressed and well behaved on Earth that they were promoted to angels in Heaven by St. Peter, also a "Winner" and Sera, the Queen of the Heavenborn Seraphim, the highest ranking angels.), also it`s implied that most of them secretly hated the Exterminations but went along with them out of fear of Adam and Lute stripping them of their "Winner" status if they disobeyed.

You know, certain parts of Valentino that appear to be clothing are actually parts of his own body. For example, the fur collar is actually part of him, being why it hurt him when Niftty took a part of it. And in "Masquerade" we got to see that his "coat" is actually his moth wings. And the decorations on his hat are actually antennae. Also, apparently the smoke he exhales has pheromones that he uses to enthawle others, being how he manages to "recruit" new people for his business, being a reference to how real moths use pheromones to attract potential mates.

I think that was his intention when he licked Charlie's arm in episode 4.

Despite I don't agree with her, I can understand Sera's decision to allow the exterminations. Yes, she doesn't know what it takes to go to Heaven, but she knows there's a reason why it's the way it is. Her duty is to protect Heaven and all the souls in it and Hell uprising would most represent a threat. One can't forget that some sinners are actually a menace, like the Vs. IMO, Adam is the real villain in all this, because the idea of the extermination came from him. He took advantage of Sera's dedication to her job to make her agree with his idea so she could have peace of mind. And even if Charlie's idea to redeem damned soul is a great idea that would solve the issues for both sides, Sera fears that can have terrible consequences, because that would mean to question the divine judgement. And to question the natural order is the worse thing an angel can do, because it can lead to their fall. What Sera told Emily at the end was not her way to control her, but a warning, because she couldn't bear the thought of seeing Emily falling like Lucifer did because she decided to question how souls are judged.

Honestly, all the problems are due to the fact that Adam is a commander. He is a idiot in everything. I don't understand why Sera trusts him so much. Maybe she doesn't care about him

its been swirling around the fandom for a while that Emily being warned about falling was foreshadowing, but not confirmed. A couple of weeks ago the voice actor posted a pic of the script on X which translated to a line that said Emily was in Hell helping charlie, now wether she fell or was visiting remains to be seen, but it might happen, we'll have to wait till season 2 to find out I guess

Episode 6 might be the most lacking in logic from all episodes. There is absolutely no reason for Sera to allow for that meeting to happen, and that Charlie or Vaggie does not mention extermination at all during the whole time until Adam does is sheer, absolute, shameless plot convenience. Within the plot: extreme luck. Was that what Sera was counting on? Luck? That is why she thought it is a good idea to let the Princess of Hell who wants to stop exterminations come up and speak freely in front of a court full of people who do not know about the exterminations? So stupid!

My question is keep heaven safe from what. the biggest threat against you isnt even able to injure you and even then you send an army down once a year for what isnt extermination but just plain out Genocide. How can you speak of protecting souls when there seems to be nothing to protect them from.

@@lucaselchidoris4637 but how could they fear her? In the origin story by Charlie Lilith was but a simple human that became the first “sinner” in hell. She later became famous because through her song and music she lifted up the depressed sinners. It was only because of hells highly increasing population that the extermination was made. I mean the Angels didn’t even know of a way for demons to injure or harm them.

They are *not* archangels. Archangels are ranked well above the exorcists. Typically, the seven archangels are Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel, Sariel, Raguel, and Remiel; though many interpretations include Lucifer as an archangel as well. Since we haven't heard of *any* of those (except Lucifer) in Hazbin, I'm guessing Sera is meant to be an archangel. That said, originally archangels were a *very low* rank of angel. John Milton, when writing Paradise Lost (which informed a ton of what modern people often think is Biblical, even though it isn't), misunderstood what "arch-" meant, so he depicted them as high-ranking. If Hazbin goes with the original meaning, archangels may just be low-ranking and unimportant. Or they could just make up their own lore as well 🤷‍♂

Well, there is one exception: Adam. Adam is the exorcists' commander, but he's ranked an archangel in the Hazbinverse. That means archangel is a rank here and not a species.

Well if you see the description of heaven in Islam... It's... Of the time... Same with the one from Revelation. Elysium from the grecs? Same, rivers of wine, fruits, etc. You won't get a PS5 in heaven from those religions^^
