I hope this video centric approach from Sony will continue. A FE PZ 24-70mm F4 G (in this form factor) would be very welcome from the community.

What i like about this lens is the lens zoom internally (not like Zeiss version) but in compact size..

Wow, this is way better than the g master in every way other than maximum aperture but the size absolutely makes up for that

If priced right, it’s the perfect lens for Gimbal & Video usage.
Just make a 16-200mm f2.0 lens and all our worries will be over, content creator all over the world will sing praise for Sony. :)

I own the 16-35 GM (mostly used for indoor video shooting), but this lens looks very interesting. I rarely shoot wide open with the GM, so f4 is no big deal. The powered zoom and smaller size are making me want to order one of these.
Wow amazing I wish they would make such a 24-70 lens or even more

Looks like a great new lens, I've been looking for a second wide angle zoom since my wife and I both tend to like to have one on our cameras at the same time.

Wonderful. Now Sony, bring out the 24-70 f4 version of this lens. Great product, 20mm 1.8 and this zoom makes Sony a great photographic system for enthusiasts.

I've had the 20mm 1.8, awesome lens but should be far superior to a sigma 14-24 DG DN for being a prime and it's not...This lens should a be a F2.8, i',m sure sigma will bring theirs out soon. A 24-70 F4 G? at what price? Going down in size but leaving the F4, come on Sony pull your socks up.

Seems like a very nice lense and I really like how small it is vs my 24mm - 70mm G Master paired with my A7IV. The only thing I'm un sure of is that F4. But it is nice though for $1200 USD.

A good lens for Videography. Looking forward to a Wide zoom range lens like 18-135mm F4 or 24-100mm F2.8/F4. That’ll be nicer choice for people only have money to purchase one lens.

I do real estate and events so this lens would be perfect for my a6500 - but since I do photography for a living, there's no way I can afford it.

@@jeroenvdw I tried it, I would rather have a lighter lens comparing to a much heavier lens with oss, since you can gyro stabilize your footage in the post
Rather, this lens can be more useful in an aps-c camera. It's an ambiguous angle of view in full frame, but it seems to be a useful lens in the crop sensor.

You're obviously very green in photography, 16-35mm is the second most popular zoom focal after 24-70mm.

Why its not a GM? for the pricetag of 1500€? But: its small and lightweight :)! to sad Canon is not doing the lightweight way like Sony.

The Tamron has a RXD not a VXD.

At the Wide end, you won't get much bokeh anyway. And Sony Cameras are beasts in low light, so the F4 really doesn't matter.
