The wyes are in backwards. The upstream wye should angle downstream and the downstream wye should angle upstream so that you don't end up with a dead spot in the middle that is unreachable with out moving to another clean out. Have had clogs between the wyes and had to open clean outs that were backed up and created a nasty time consuming messes. Even if the line drains it is still not a 100% cleaned.

Also don’t use a San tee for a horizontal line clean out, use a 2 way clean out fitting

Thanks for the demo, and getting wet to demonstrate the tip action. I assume the green hose is for this purpose, more flexible that the pressure washer hose. Can you list where you got the fitting and green flex hose? Also, would it be possible to connect green hose to pressure washer gun, so there is on-off control. Or probably not necessary, and seems the jets pointing back drive the hose forward, and there is some hand manipulation to fill the hose in and out and twist as needed. Thanks. Great video.

You still have to pay them for attempting to clear out the line. As long as they tried their best and made every attempt possible then u have to pay them for the work they did. The company I work for will take half off the fee if we can't clear it. U will need to hire someone with a bigger jet to clear it. It will get worse before it gets better unfortunately...

Septic field - Hydrojetting may clear the lines, but the real problem might be that the gravel is gunked full. Our septic field is 46 years old. How can I find out if the gravel is clogged? Dig? Rent an excavator? $6900 Canadian ($5550 US) is the price quote I got for hydrojetting (5 leaching pipes x 60' each). Should I be putting that money into a new septic system? (~$30,000) If the new field lasts 30 years, that's $1000 per year. Is there any way to predict if hydrojetting will get me 7 years? In this video we didn't see a vacuum sucking the results of the hydrojet backwards. Even with a vacuum sucking at the head of each pipe, some of the material broken up by the hydrojet will go through the pipe's perforations. (I have no idea how big those perforations are.) If the gravel is not already clogged, this will add more gunk to clog it. Problem? Ground-Penetrating Radar can find the location of septic fields. Is there any way to see the density of clogging in the gravel?

That's why you always jet from the curb trap or at the tank and work your way toward the clog from outside the house. The other option is to use a blow bag from inside the home. Blow bag will expand to the pipe and prevent backing up

As a plumber I feel like all pressure washer, sewerage line unblocking tutorials are offering false hope for people with real blockages, as the blockage in this video could be cleared with a line plunger. Blockages can mostly be caused by tree roots, take your pressure washer and your jetting head and see if it can cut some small tree roots, I'd bet it can not. If you wanted to go down this path because you have a pressure washer and your happy to send some money getting hose and attachments then that's ok still probably won't work, but don't buy a pressure washer for this job because it has simulator capabilities to a line plunger. I'm not telling people they should engage a plumber but if you want the job done right pay the person who has most probably spent $50,000 buying the right equipment for the job. Great tutorial and explanation.

@@googleuser868 I just had my septic cleaned a year too soon because the sewage wasn't reaching the septic. The water was high in the septic tank and we've been having alot of rain. That didn't help so they jet the line and it worked. But exactly a month later it's acting up again. Standing water in the shower and it's half flushing. We just spent $450. Never had this problem before. We think were going to try jetting the line with a power washer. I hope it works.

You know, roto rooter was going to charge me over $1,100 to do this? After this video and a little more research I went with the clog hog needle nose 50ft, and attached it to my cheap 1700 psi little electric pressure washer and with in 15 minutes using your technique I saved roughly $1,000. I’m a new home owner and after doing this myself I Honestly feel like plumbers doing maintenance are crooks.

Power washer won’t truly work I’m a 30 year drain cleaner and tried that over the years. A 150 foot jet hose won’t even make 500 psi. So this really won’t work. He has a short 25 foot jetter hose. If it really was this simple I would of been out of a job decades ago

This video was made to help the home owner...and it has helped many over the years. Not only that, but I use the jetter, exactly as described above, almost daily in my septic work to unclog drains...with about a 90% success rate. So stick it in your pipe, Vince!
