In this video we are going to dive into Configurations, Display States, and Design Tables for Parts in Solidworks. This is a BIG topic and there are a few details we need to take care of. The ideal way to configure a part will change based on your modeling approach, so in this video we will go through common modeling practices, how that will affect the configuration, how to properly configure dimensions and features, and how to use design tables.
If you like this topic let me know and we can dive deeper into Configurations for Assemblies as well.

What happens if i add new features after making a configuration. Do the new features get added in all configurations or only in the current configuration I am working in? I think we can probably use this as a Version Control thing too?

When you make a configuration in the config manager there is a check box option that determines what happens. By default its check and will suppress features in all other configs, but you can also toggle it off so that all features are added to all configs. They will be on every config just the suppression state is controlled. so you can always decide to add/remove them if needed.
