My ozurdex lasted for only 3 months...... any specific reasons?????

My husband got sudden vision loss in right eye.Doctor diagnosed it ischemic crvo. He is injected the ranibizumab injection into the and done 1 laser. But on improvement yet.condition is same as first day .today is 18th day.doctor suggested 3 more sittings of laser to prevent glaucoma. When will his vision come? Pls reply

Long topic. People would need injections till disease is controlled adequately. Good diabetes control will help in reducing number of injections

@@srinageshrao1054 talk to your doctor, i think with macular edema if swelling is lil high, you need 2-3 injections, and hopefully your blur will go off soon.

Dear Ma’am, it’s quite common to inject patients with diabetic retinopathy and also laser them. I’m sure your doctor is doing whatever best is possible

I am I able to stop the treatment if I choose to.? I’m on monthly avastin Directions and I can no longer afford to get them I want to stop them as soon as possible but I was told by the doctor that you must come every month. What would happen if I just stopped or what is the possibilities of what would happen if I just stopped.

Hello Dr, my mother is not a diabetic. But she is having problem in her vision in the right eye. went to eye hospital and did OCT scan, found that her eye nerves got swollen. Dr suggested for intravitreal injectection(ozurdrex), we did the same on jan 2021, went review for Feb, and march . on the march report swelling was reduced, but no improvement in her vision. Dr asked for next month review, we couldn't go for next month due to corona lock down. Today july 2nd we went for review and did OCT. In the report we found that the swelling is more than the one which we saw before that intravitreal treatment. Not sure why it's increased. Even my mother is not a diabetics. please suggest what we have to do next. What might be the reason she is still having swallon even after injection?

for young eyes is this be normal if you will take only one shot

Can work sometimes. But as a protocol we usually administer 3 doses at monthly intervals

I have had two injections of Avastin...My two experiences were both very painful...The last one was tremendous pain. And the injection took 4-5 seconds which is much different from your desscription of a split second,....OR "the patient will not even realize he/she is getting the injection....WOW...That is so far from my experience. I'm already dreading the next monthly shot.

Ma’am. So each pt will have different experience based on the pain threshold. My description is based on majority of pt reactions. An occasional pt may have pain. So don’t worry . I’m sure your doctor is doing his/her best for you! Regards

The first injection pain which lasted 10 hours, was due to the aides failing to flush the Betadine out of my eye...The second injection was issued by a very young ophthalmologist who was learning how to inject the eye....My second Ophthalmologist is EXCELLENT! He's a seasoned veteran in this process...I'm now on VYBYSMO, and the results are startlingly wonderful! I would always encourage a patient to follow their own realizations about what to do for themselves. All doctors are NOT necessarily "the best." I've always been my best advocate....

Is there a risk of increasing a patient’s chances of developing glaucoma by taking these injections? It would seem that adding this substance to the eye would increase the pressure of the eye.

They test the pressure before and after. They inject a small amount of fluid so if your pressure is good before it should not rise much if at all. I'm not a doctor but I have had this procedure every two months for several years.

Painless? That is not what I have heard. Maybe no pain from the needle, but pain from the antiseptic applied to clean the area around the eye from bacteria, after the anesthesia wears off. Also, it feels like there is bit of sand in the eye. Plus possible bleeding.

Yes ma’am, the antiseptics can cause a bit of irritation but is rarely significant and majority of our patients cope with it pretty well.
