Shaun, I started watching your video at .23 seconds. My husband and his sons will be going into the Bob Marshall Wilderness, on June 25th to camp and of course fish. Paul, will have just turned 81 years old a few days earlier. They will hike in for several miles to the site they have always stay at for the past 26 years. I can now see why they enjoy this journey so much, as I watch you, Cali and, your friends. So happy to see you are feel healthier.

Cali captured my attention on this video more that the menfolk and the fish did. The shot of her in the early morning was beautiful. She is so tuned into nature. I think Cali is a very special dog. I am glad for you guys that the weather was great. The area you chose to fish was lovely. Very much enjoyed this video.

what I enjoyed the most in this video was the segment of the portage of the boats crossing the water over dry land to water. My Father needed me to know this, as he lived in Portage Wisconsin. He was a real outdoorsman!

I have fond memories of my own two-tone Golden Retriever. Top half golden, bottom half black mud - it was even more special to crawl into a small tent with him.🙄Thanks for sharing, reminds me of when I could walk well enough to do the same.

Always a pleasure to see these camping/canoeing/fishing trips. The two pups were having a ball🦮🐕‍🦺I remember my last trip into the Canadian outback like it were yesterday. That was over 25 years ago now. There were four of us with two Grumman aluminum canoes, and two packs filled to the gills for a one week stay. Across three lakes with two killer portages and we had arrived. A week of fishing in the main lake, as well as a short portage to another lake. Lots of exploring, stargazing (major meteor shower) loon music, life-long friends .... what more could you ask for👍🏻🦅🐟🐟

Callie is the happiest disaster I’ve ever seen. I had to laugh when you called her a disaster! Such a wonderful video with the dogs living their best life!

If you grab a pike over the neck an apply a gentle pressure on the gill covers they will get momentarily paralysed. Then it’s easy to remove any hooks or lures.

[EDIT] Enjoyed seeing your boiler - I know them as a Benghazi Boiler, invented by Kiwis in North Africa in WW2 (bet ya the Aussies claim it 🙂); my folks had a Thermette brand for picnics, and we used Benghazis in the NZFS, burning diesel over pine needles, for smoko cups of tea twice a day. Stewed, yeah, but put enough sugar in and you're good for the next 2.5 hours. Brilliant gadgets! Glad they're known about in foreign climes, and deserve to be famous. An Cali took her fetcher along, just in case things got boring - nice. Again, thanks, Shawn. Appreciated. And if you haven't got yourself a Benghazi you're missing out on easy to operate water boiler, way faster than a billy on a cooker or a fire!!

This one hit close to home bringing back years of working with Scouts, Not so fortunate to be out in that remote of a wilderness though. We had an amazing river in south eastern Massachusetts. The old Wamanoag passage, their old trading route from just south of Boston on the great Bay to the Narragansett bay in Rhode Island. 110 miles of several rivers, portages, and the Taunton River. We ran that river in all weathers, seasons and times of day and night camping at the Indian Reservation, farms fields along the banks, old cutouts in the banks where ships were built back in the 1700s and rock piers where the the ships were fitted out. . We went out in dead of winter, in snowstorms and cold Novembers with the river running high and a strong wind in our backs. When we literally flew down the river.. Especially paddling at night with snow falling and a full moon. Great memories. Thanks for the video.

I lived this life in 1964 as a college student. Wish I had a dog along. We stumbled onto an island on Sagnaga Canada which the previous campers left a alive pool of Walleye. We let them loose but they stayed behind. So we were obligated to eat a few. Love your channel. . Party

This shows what fascinated Viktor Schauberger, the way trout look to be motionless yet they don’t get pushed by the flowing water. Some kind of spiraling vortex force that allows one to levitate. Also the extraordinary nature of water. Beautiful shots!

Hey Shawn, your trip brings back memories of lake trout fishing with my dad and grandad . Every spring we would make our way to our favourite lake back of Iron Bridge/Eliott Lake and always come home with an abundance of lake trout anywhere from 3 lbs - 12 lbs . The trout would be feeding on the smelts that were running that time of the year. Thanks for posting your trip and sparking fond memories.
