I think what would've been a cool idea for no way home would be to have scorpion showing up when peter and strange are attempting to cast the spell and he's the one that twarts it instead. It would solve the Dr strange character assassination and actually have the scropion reveal have some relavence, and also have it still be more far from home conquences

I understand your point, but to be honest I'd much prefer a whole film with Scorpion. Marvel have completely wasted the talents of Michael Mando, I hope they do something with him one day.

No Way Home is just pure fanservice, not necessarily anything wrong with that but it's kind of a calculated sacrifice that people who haven't seen the previous movies won't get much out of it

Couldn't agree more! I'm really happy that people enjoyed it and I do think there is value to be found in seeing all 3 characters together. Unfortunately, I just don't think it's as substantive as a lot of people believe it to be. And like you said, people who haven't seen the previous movies are unlikely to get anything out of it - Spider-Verse has to establish all it's characters in a much shorter runtime. Yet, it does it far better in my opinion.

And I suppose people are gonna get Spider-people who don't have movies of their own for people to connect with before hand? They're just fanservice decor, they're not proper characters.

George WELCOME BACK DUDE!!! So happy for this video as it shares the 2 biggest Spider-Man movies EVER! Honestly, seeing your comparison between Spider Verse and No Way Home is just awesome! Honestly, it is hard to decide between the two films since they are very strong adaptations. Between the two, Spider Verse has less continuity errors compared to No Way Home mostly since Spider Verse has its own cinematic environment. Spider Verse is indeed one of the most perfect Spider-Man films ever which is why it absolutely deserves the praise! 🙌 But, I deeply love love LOVE No Way Home more haha. Despite some of the plot holes and continuity errors the film had, No Way Home had to carry multiple films from the MCU and other alternate franchises from Tobey and Andrew. It even resonated with audiences much more since Tobey, Andrew, and Tom have been Spider-Man for a long time and have inspired many childhoods for 20 years. No Way Home definitely built many bridges among Tobey and Andrew's films in making their stories extremely connected to Tom Holland's environment in the MCU. They also show how each of the Peter Parkers were relatable in different ways which made Tobey, Andrew, and Tom seem more like brothers than they really are 🥲 I love both films very very much but I honestly love No Way Home just because we got to see all 3 live action Spider-Mans in ONE MOVIE!!! Thanks for this analysis George!

Thank you again Mac, I always like seeing your input whenever I upload these analysis videos.

I try and avoid using the word "overrated" myself (not trying to plug, but there is a video on my channel explaining why if you're curious). But I can't disagree that Spider-Verse is a far superior version of that movie. If there other 2 Spider-Men in NWH were random actors, but everything else in the film was exactly the same - I don't believe it would be anywhere near as well received.

Spider-Verse is definitely superior, there’s no ifs ands or buts about it. However, No Way Home does feel underrated by comparison and deserves a little more credit. Yes, the movie’s plot is badly written and feels like a nostalgia-fueled fan fiction, but I feel like the fanservice used was pretty effectively and helped further Tom Holland’s interpretation of the character. I didn’t feel like the references from the villains or the other Peters were that constant throughout the film and was mainly secondary to the actual plot. What I got from NWH was a flawed yet touching ride where Tobey and Andrew successfully passed the torch to Tom. Could Tom’s Spider-Man have reached the same conclusion with a different and better-written story? Oh absolutely, but I don’t think the use of fanservice didn’t derail what it was trying to achieve. Regardless of how you feel about ITSV and NWH, we can both agree that both are MASSIVE love letters to Spider-Man

I personally even with all your points do disagree with some then I thought the plot was as good as into the spiderverse and that the characters were done justice and that the fanservice was used to tell a well crafted story (peter character arc from nwh was the best storytelling thought it was better than miles but not as good as peter b parker character arc

I think 'No Way Home' definitely tried, I don't feel like that movie is completely devoid of talent, but I can't disagree that it's relying too heavily on the content that came before, rather than being coherent on it's terms. Spider-Verse is completely it's own thing and makes an extremely great story out of it.

Spider-verse has a story? Good one. It's just an excuse for Spider-people crossovers who are barely more than decor. They don't have their own movies, so we don't know them and we're not allowed to know them properly because they're nothing but supporting decorations for Miles. We only know him, nobody else is important.

It wasn't made for you, it was for true Spider-Man fans who love the character. The fact that you need to compare Spider-verse to NWH just proves to me how great NWH is because I don't see anyone trying to make a video of how NWH is great and Spdier-verse is shit.
