He seemed super light-hearted in this because that's how he originally was. This was also his first ever instance of multi-versal travel. Later on, when he finds out about canon instances and understanding the repurcussions of it, his mood got much darker, especially after playing doppleganger.

I think this Spiderman 2099 is the original one, because my theory is this one didn't die by a gun like the other version did, and is not a clone, the clone Miguel became Spiderman and has a darker story, and the 2 spiderman 2099 suits has different logos, it's so obvious, the Spiderman 2099 in the second movie of spiderman 2099 isn't the original 2099, he's a clone

He has some humor to him in ASTV, it just comes across as being really dry.

After 18 months of dealing with this, I can understand his change. Can you imagine giving the exact same explanation to countless other Spider-Mans, including a cat, a T-Rex, and most likely a zombie Spider-Man that didn't pan out because he just wanted to chow down on other people?? I would need a very slow-moving platform to gather my thoughts and prep myself for yet another explanation too. Lol

We can see that this is before he became traumatized and obsessed with the whole Canon event stuff. The Miguel in ATSV is heavily traumatized and regretful, basically suffering with too much stress and PTSD, this is why it is misunderstood as seeing him being a "bad guy" when he is just a broken Spider-Man.

I think they would make Miguel remember this, because he feels overwhelmed with stress, Past guilt, and trauma. That is why he has gotten to extremes and has been so hard on everything, and on everyone, yet now, I'm afraid that he may sacrifice himself on the 3rd film to rectify himself, because of the burden he carries on his shoulders, but also because he is a Spider-Man and would do like they all always do, sacrifice themselves.

My headcanon is that the prototype universe transporter morphed MIguel's body to fit the universe he went in so that he wouldn't glitch. Then, the technology got better and he was able to move through universes without changing his body at all.

Across the Spiderverse was delayed so many times because he took half a decade to work on those shoulders

I think this scene is pretty brilliant. Its common to use a post credits scene to set up one of the future antagonists. But here, they keep the fact he will be one of the new antagonists a secret and make it seem like he is just a new potential spider ally.

And even funnier, Miguel accidentally got the gag up to an extreme degree; by not stating WHICH Spider-Man was his problem, all the Spiders pointed accusatory fingers at each other all over the place.

I like that Miguel is almost a completely different person here because you can really see how losing his family twice changed him. I might be getting my timeline mixed up, but if this Miguel and Peter B. ever teamed up, they must have had a blast.

The double point followed by the little jumpey jump at the end did it for me 😂😂😂

this was before he found out about canon events and got all dark and sad and grew huge fucking shoulders

Anyone notice that Miguels animation style changed to fit the universe he was in but in the same movie and in Across The Spiderverse everyone retains their animation style regardless of the universe they are in

His design is so much less bulky, and much more faithful to the original design. Honestly I like the glowy red, and the spider and lenses look more angular and sharp. It makes him look more mean and serious, and also the bulkiness adds to the intimidation factor.

I need more people to talk about how perfect the voice casting for Miguel is. Oscar Isaac was amazing in the movie and I wanted more of him and more of Miguel.

For everyone saying how relaxed he is here: Him trying to stop Miles from making the same mistake he did while getting ignored is what’s making him angry. He had to watch everything get lost once, tried to make it better and lost everything again. He knows what it costs and Miles (From where he’s standing) should understand that you can’t save everyone.

This is more accurate to how Miguel is in most of his comics and I love that. Spiderman 67 is the reason 2099 snapped

After watching Across the Spiderverse this whole scene just makes sense

I like to think that other than the Spider-man of Earth-199999 due to the events of No Way Home, Miguel just outright refused to recruit this Spider-man out of sheer spite.

That's why he was so upset in the new movie because of this spiderman

@@ozansimsek1660 that's one of the many side effects of splicing his genes with spider DNA (how he got his powers). Besides the basics powers (super strength, agility and etc) he has talons on his hands and feet for wall crawling, no spider sense but all of his senses went up to eleven (including his sight, normally represented by artists as his eyes being either of white yellowish or red color), has fangs that produce paralyzing venom and can shoot webs organically from his forearms.
