What i love about Uraya is the concept. Imagine a continent that is a huge cave that moves. Underwater. And there are cities there. Isn't it incredible? The combination of mountains, caves,valleys... and the insides of a huge fish? It's... I don't know, I loved it. Uraya was the first place that really sold me Xenoblade 2.

Something cool you might have noticed is that each country in this game uses a different accent, Gormotti are Welsh, Ardainians are Scottish and Urayans are Australian

great job on understanding the basics of combat so early on! edit: your second blade combo (with the common wind blade) probably didn't do as much damage because you had yet to assign a core chip to his weapon to up his overall damage also very important: use the overdive protocols sparingly! (I'd suggest to wait till chapter 5 or so before using any of them) they are pretty limited and the only way to get them otherwise is through some endgame farming method, you also get some from buying the expansion dlc, which I and most of the fans will recommend for the additional story alone anyway (this WILL give you looots and lots of core crystals to play around with, which might break the game difficulty wise if you decide to open them all up during early game.. but that's once again just a matter of patience so should be fine¿)

Great I'm catching up with you! Uraya is very cool. It will be a great episode and it has blade combos. I didn't resist and left a hint on another commentary, maybe you don't even need it anymore.

Re: showing battles - personally id prefer leaving in quest battles & unique-enemy battles, but skipping random side battles (unless something particularly interesting/funny happens in a random battle). But I dont mind you leaving everything in either, I'll just skip past the parts if i'm not interested.

Don't be afraid to use your core Crystals now. At least the common ones. You will reach a limit of awakened blades at one point and then you'll have to release some anyways. There are unique blades, you will recognize them instantly, besides those futuristic-looking common blades and to enhance the chances of awakening a unique blade you will need those boosters you saw in the core crystal menu. You get those boosters by releasing blades. And later in the game your inventory will be full of blades that are weak and useless. The only thing you could need from them are field skill like unlocking things. You also saw how you can "stack" the levels of the field skill with multiple blades. Later in the game there are some road blocks that require certain field skills and you can use trash blades to stack your levels for the needed requirement, but don't let that hold you back. Even with common core crystals you can get unique blades and they are so much cooler (and most of the tine stronger) than common ones. They have unique quests for each unique blade and they are voiced and every thing. Later on the completion of the unique blade roster can be a nightmare ( I never did that) but getting the majority comes naturally when you play through the game and use all the crystals along the way. Just keep in mind that you will get more party members later, so keep some rare crystals for them. (common ones can be farmed quite easily)

Good progress on your battling skills. I see you're not utilizing cancel chains. Just to make it clear - besides cancelling autoattacks into arts, you can also cancel arts into specials, arts into blade switch, blade switch into arts. The chain you can do atm for driver with to blades (-> here means "cancel into") 3 autoattacks -> art -> blade switch -> art -> special. Good thing is that with anything beside autoattack you don't have to be precise with timing, you can just smash those buttons. Switching Tora to Vandham is a reasonable thing to do, he is pretty tanky. One thing about Vandham is that he has very cheap cancel arts into other arts node. This will let you do 3 autoattacks -> art1 -> art2 -> art3 - special chains, giveng you a taste of what you'll be able to achieve with Rex later. Just don't forget to put those deserts into your pouch. Fusion combo is when you do blade and driver combo at the same time. This is a mechanics that breaks the game completely, but you need consistent breaker and toppler to fully utilize it.

Don't dump all that on him at once. I think the concept of cancelling itself needs to be learned first. Else this can be quite overwhelming.

@@mrmiesfies3941 😂 the only reason I'm explaining this is that he pulls off autoattack canceling into arts and specials quiet consistently.

One other dude here tried to explain cancelling to you, but I find that a bit rushed and way too much at once. If you want to start slowly then I want to introduce you to some easy techniques to make the fights much shorter for you. You already know about the 1-2-3 hit combo when auto attacking. The game also explained once that you can cancel your third hit by pressing an Art button exactly when the auto attack hits the enemy (the window is quite big, this is no Dark Souls). When you do that successfully a sparkling circle will appear around you. That buffs the attack and fills the cooldown for all Arts much faster. You can cancel every auto attack, not just the third hit. The third hit is just the strongest. That brings us to a technique where I am not quite sure if it was intended by the devs. Because you cant do it in XC3 any more. :D The tech uses the fact that the first auto attack comes out the fastest when you stop moving (the first auto attack while standing still uses a different animation). You can abuse that fast first hit animation by moving a tiny bit after every hit. That way every attack is that short first hit. And because Auto attack hits fill up Arts, you can fill up those Arts faster by doing that move-canceling. Combine that with the Art cancelling (hitting the Art button when hitting the enemy) and you will notice how much more damage you can do in a shorter amount of time. One more thing: You can also cancel Arts into Arts (REMINDER!!! every blade needs to unlock this in their affinity chart first). It is a bit harder there to determine the exact "hit", but that is no problem. Because even mashing the buttons is viable here, because you can't cancel while the Art animation is playing out, but you can as soon as the Art animation ends. So if you mash, you can easily hit that first frames of the cancel window. Every time you do it correctly this circle will appear and after a bit of practice you will see that circle all the time because you will cancel from one Art into another. :D (You can also use blade switches to cancel, but I think try the basics first and then experiment at your own pace. I am impressed how good you implemented the last tips we gave you. Keep on the good work!)

Okay, not to be rude but there is one thing that bothers me while I watch your playthrough. You're camera settings in-game is off. For example, when you enter a small corridor or room, it looks a bit funky. Try to fix it please. Hold down "Shoulder L" and press "R Stick" to reset the camera to it's default position. Then if you want to learn how to adjust you camera, just press the D-Pad "Up". Hope this helps

Informants in this game are so bad, the tutorials they give you are already extremely short-winded and non-informative. Outside from a few sidequests you don't need to pay them any mind.
