I particularly appreciated the observation of painting's quality of touch. That's a really important quality that is so often lost in just viewing art on a phone. Every screen feels the same, where there are billions of elements that change between viewer and physical painting. There's a real opportunity for painters to hold the viewers curiosity, to pull people deeper in. Thanks to the makers of this film and to Peter. Very simple, but important thoughts to think about as artists.

It would be rad if you put his voice over footage showing examples of his work and him working it.

Thank you makers and Peter. This was great. I like what was said about flatness & Aliveness. It made me think of how the act of painting is a instance of pushing a 3-d world and a meta-dimensional experience into a 2-d surface as to simplify and understand in a different way.

I enjoy Peter Doig interviews with the sound turned off. I like the sound turned off because it reminds me of his art.

Thanks to the producers of this video and many thanks to Peter for being allowed to be 'interrogated' and providing an interesting insight on how Peter thinks about his work. This is a valuable 16 minutes of art education in a nutshell. I hope painting will never be taken away from man because it would be like loosing an endangered species like the elephant and many other important animals on this planet. You might as well think of a world where man has lost his ability to see touch and feel before the end of painting. Painting constantly reinvents with the manipulation by the artist.

Funnily, I love looking at supplies at an art store. My imagination is unleashed.

somewhat surprised Peter didn't say anything about the internet/dicital media as a technical invention that has influenced/changed/confronted painting - i kind of thought that topic would be a given -although maybe a little too pat or boring to get into

"How does the process look like?" Only Germans would use how and like together. Correct would have been"How does the process look?"
