I think you and crazy Brian should do a show on how to service your wheelchair. I totally agree about the hair in the front wheels it's so gross, but I don't know how to clean it out, urghh. Also, it's a great show. Maybe you and crazy Brian could show people some ways to use a wheelchair in and out of the house, like how you use it to do everyday tasks. Thanks ❤⚘️💚

Awesome video, Britt. It was nice to get to know a little bit more about Brian and hear how he got to be in a chair as well. He's pretty cool. I have followed his Tiktok.

Thanks for making us think. My wife and I thought that both you and Brian would say that the one thing you’d change in hindsight would be to not do the activity that led to you being paralyzed. We were kinda shocked. Yet… my wife would never say that she wishes she wasn’t born disabled. So we seem to have a big disconnect there. More discussion and thought is needed at our end. Brittney - now maybe Brian should ask you these same 14 questions. I think many of us would love to hear your answers!

Brain is a cool guy. Great to know about the show. I was born with disabilities now live in Ontario. Just got funding for a new rigid wheelchair after 28 years using crutches and another 25 years on not so comfortable folding chairs. Through your video, I learnt a lot about wheelchairs. Even I still have some function on my legs, I am still a full time wheelchair user. My OT kept give me stupid suggestions through care giver of view, even I told her I am active user and do things by myself all day. So happy that I found your channel and now the tv show.

A crip cruise would be so cool as a first travel opportunity for people that are newly injured. You'd get to hang out with and learn from so many people in wheelchairs in a really safe place. I hope we can make it happen someday!

Visiting inaccessible private residences - we have over 1,000 new “Visitable Homes” here in Winnipeg. No step entrance, wider doorways and hallways, and a fully accessible main floor bathroom. But I sure wish there were a lot more of them. Brittney, I soooo wish these had been available when we built our home 34 years ago. I hate the fact that some friends would find it difficult to visit our home. It makes me sad/mad. Re: Gas stations, etc - I am currently discussing this with multiple landlords to at least make more, and better located, curb cuts at these places. At all public places. I mean really - how difficult is it to make curb cuts in front of all businesses? I may need to pursue a building code change.

@@EmpoweredPara I have a bit of the “inside track” from my working days, so I am going to try. I’m already working on a change to the stupid decision here to allow single elevators in apartment buildings which also really pisses me off.

@@EmpoweredParaMulti-Pronged approach - education, shaming, Building Code, Human Rights Code. I’m going to talk to a Human Rights Commissioner friend if, in essence, barring a person from entering a premises because they use a wheelchair, or making them enter it from the back where the garbage is found, is a Human Rights violation.

The incomplete type of paralysis is so confusing to me. And the thought of hyper-sensitivity is kinda of frightening. Maybe not the same as I felt when I heard that many paras live with almost constant nerve pain. That bothers me A LOT!
