Yeah, I totally forgot about Claudia beating the living daylights out of her, and then they both threw her in the fire while she was still alive. So technically, Louis did help kill Antoinette, and he slit Lestat's throat.

What's fucked up is that this isn't really a trial for all three of them, it's only a trial for Claudia. Claudia is the only one who is in the coven and set by those rules and considering how we heard Lestat say he still loved Louis when Louis was hurt we know that Lestat probably knows this. Lestat could finally get what he wanted. Louis is all to himself, all of the spotlight and control of the situation with the added bonus of killing Claudia who in his opinion fucked everything up.

Every time I watch these episodes, I remind myself of what Sam Reid (Lestat) said in an interview, you have not met the real Lestat. This is Louis, and by extension, Armand's interpretation of Lestat. So we as the audience must always bear that in mind. Memory is the monster is the theme. Louis remembers some things but not others. And, Armand has had a hand in shaping those memories. Ep5 showed us how he altered Louis and Daniel's memory. We have confirmation that we can't necessarily trust anything Armand says or remembers. Just like the characters, we, as the audience, are a part of this shared memory. What we see is one version (Louis) of events, people, and places. There is no objective truth. It's all subjective. So we, as the audience, must take with a grain of salt what's being told/shown to us.

​@RowensARTstudiohopefully it doesn't become a case of completely undoing everything Lestat did and said in season 1 just to absolve him. Claudia and Louis still wanted to be free of him regardless of if he never went as far as we saw him go with the abuse. Altered memories courtesy of Armand aside, they have been going by Claudia's diaries throughout the interview too, and just because it was her POV doesn't mean it doesn't count. I'm not saying that's what you're suggesting but so many others are just so they can feel guilt free about wanting Lestat and Louis together and it's so weird to me.

OMG! I just got that part about Armand saying that he had a cutting from a magnolia tree that he'd been growing in the suitcase. Is that the same tree in their apartment?

When Lestat is speaking through Armand, it is 1973. The trial is in Paris in 1949. The fire is after the trial.

I'm eager to see the dynamic between Lestat and Armand! Are they going to fight each other for Louis's affection? Are they gonna get back together? After all Lestat did say he still loves Louis.

Poor Madeleine got dragged into this mess 😭 I'm sooo happy to see Lestat but it's like... at what cost

Hey Nikki, and Amber, I love your hair today. You two always look great. I'm happy to see Lestat is back, and very much alive. Armand is a coward, and when it came down to it, he chose himself over Louis. I don't believe that Louis asked him to erase the memories from San Francisco. It was just another lie from Armand because Daniel doesn't remember anything either, and I'm pretty sure that Daniel didn't ask Armand to erase his memory. I wonder if Lestat will let Louis go? I know that he still loves Louis. I can't wait for next week!

But, in his point of view, he also was regretful for what he done to Claudia too, he loved her. And, even hold on to her yellow dress, and told Armand (who was ruthless in the book compared to the show) if they spread her ashes. But in this show, he didn't care about her at all! Unlike in the books. I dislike Lestat in the tv show. But, I love him in the books. He wasn't that vicious, toxic, and cruel like in this show. He was really hurt for their betrayal, which I understand in the book. He was just annoyed by Claudia insisting to know vampires, and she was spoiled. Unlike in the show, where he effin deserve what happened to him! He was effin selfish, toxic, a cheater, a beater!!!!

​@@user-cv3ke7so8eI like your comment, my friend, but this interview we're seeing from Louis and Armand's (just to point out, why the heck is Armand helping Louis do the interview?) point of view, and sometimes I feel like Armand did something to Louis's memory to make him think that Lestat was a vicious monster so that it will always remain that way, but yes, we know Lestat is selfish, toxic, manipulative, but an abuser?. I'm not sure on that part yet because we haven't seen what really happened in season 1, episode 5, yet, but most likely we'll see that flashback in episode 7, so don't hate him yet, my friend. I'm sure Armand is way worse compared to Lestat. And Lestat did love Claudia; it's just that he made her because it was the thought of Louis leaving him and him being alone forever, but yes, he did love her, and Lestat doesn't want to be there at the trial; he didn't want this. I think he was forced to do this and make it seem like he wanted justice.

I remember when they captured Louis, Claudia, and Madeline, he kept yelling for them not to hurt Louis. He just wanted to talk to him. I don't remember him voicing any objections to them killing Claudia. And yes, I do remember him keeping her yellow dress. I'm sure in the show, his anger and need for retribution are pointed at Claudia. In fact, she is the one who instigated and somewhat manipulated Louis into helping her kill him. Louis in fact saved Lestats life by not letting her burn him. I think Lestat knows that as well.

​@@mr.animelover4691regardless of if he did actually destroy the house by thrashing Louis around and hurt Claudia and drop Louis from the sky the fact remains Lestat still manipulated and controlled Louis and Claudia to the point they both wanted to be free of him, in the show and in the book, so whose point of view it is in season 1 is irrelevant. Hopefully we'll hear more of Lestat's feelings for Claudia and Louis, we know he didn't blame Claudia for what she did, he knew he had it coming. Guess we'll see how the show depicts it. But we also know he's under the control of Armand in Paris.

I have watched the scene a few times now, and the scene where Claudia saves Madeline from her attackers and reveals her vampire nature to her is very similar to the scene in season one episode one where Lestat goes into the church and kills the priest and reveals his vampire nature to Louis. The way they were shot are similar. The way you don't see exactly what's happening and the violence of the situation, and then Madeline/Louis walking out to see Claudia/Lestat bent over their victims feeding. Very similar.

Face down Louis said. 😂

Curious the stripes on Lestat’s outfits. Reminds one of prison bars… remember that.

Armand is so much older & stronger in every way but he still allows Louie to be da boss. Armand's backstory has to be why he seems to like to be told what to do, that's sad. Present day: Armand & Louis bickering like am old married couple, body language screaming! I love how Daniel just doesn't give a shit what Armand says anymore, he's dying anyway, probably figures, what the hell, I'm gonna say anything I want. The double date was the best, so funny, so easy with each other, I wish it could have lasted longer. Then......he chose.

I just want Claudia to be okay. Like I don't know how likely that is, but I can't help when I watch whatever she's feeling, I feel.

Not likely. I'm not trying to give away any spoilers, but you don't see her in the current timeline do you? You notice how Louis gets triggered and sometimes suicidal when the issue of Claudia gets brought up? That's not because this had a happy ending.

I swear, if people blame Armand for Claudia death ALONE, I know they didnt read the book or is a hardcore toxic Lestat fan. I blame both Lestat and Armand for Claudia's demise. Lestat was the final straw for her death because he told Santiago to ONLY punish her (but we know he punish both of them), and Armand letting his followers do his dirty work because he wanted Louis to himself. But again, I dont know if the show will only blame or make Armand the ONLY bad guy.

My question is, why would Armand need to deceive Louis into thinking he had no power to stop it in order to separate Louis from Claudia (like it was in the book) if Louis and Claudia were already separated? Claudia asked Madeline to be made so she could go with her and have a separate life from Louis. Claudia and Madeline were out of town. They had to return one last time to say goodbye to Louis and Armand. The separation was done. Armand didn't need her dead to separate Louis from her. I think the story about the choice the coven gave him was true. They probably told him he had to hand over Claudia and Louis, step down from the coven, or die. If you don't think Armand believed they could do it, remember, he saw the Rome coven set fire to his maker Marius, another ancient, powerful vampire. People underestimate what a coven of vampires can do when united. They could have killed him.

Hurt people hurt people. Louis is one damaged individual. Also the scream I let out when you know who shows up at the end!🎉

Lestat when haunting Louis said, he would come when Louis was happy and here he is. I feel if they’re putting Louis and Claudia on trial for trying to kill Lestat, which is against their rules, Lestat should go on trial for making Claudia because that too is against their rules. Poor Madeline catching strays lol.

In the books, Armand was torturing Lestat for years after he came to him asking for blood to heal. Armand set all this up in the books and Lestat just wanted to talk… I don’t think the show is following this tho

That wasn’t actually Lestat. DreamSTat was a manifestation of Louis’ subconscious mind. Basically, he was waiting for the other show to drop when they first reached Europe. He had a full blown relationship with DresmStat in Paris, it’s why they had to “breakup” so he could move on.

Somehow, I don't believe Armand had a choice. I think Santiago and the coven came at him and said, "You gotta do x, y, and z , and we're gonna have Lestat there, and if not, we're gonna send you onto glory. Remember Armand x'd Santiago's maker, so this is payback. Plus, Santiago doesn't like Louis at all! 🤨

I ask you ladies to read the novels and you’ll see that Louis is the weakest vamp compared to Armand, Lestat, Santiago and a few others not yet mentioned. Louis core to his soul is to hold on to his humanity, he’s the most human of all vamps, that’s his strength and appeal. Just wait till you meet Lestat’s mother and the Queen.

This was a good one. I'm too exited for the next episode. 😬

Two of my favorite things that I noticed. 1. When we see Claudia again, she is just as Madeleine has pictured her in her mind and even better. Her hair is natural, she is wearing something she is happy in, and all of her smiles are so genuine it hurt. 2. When Louis gets comfortable or happy, he speaks like he did when he was human and happy. His accent slips out more and you can see all of his stresses just leave his body. All of this to say, fuck you Armand (I love him and his actor but what the fuck)

I already dont like Louie but THIS episode made me HATE him. How can he get mad at Armand about something like making him forget he tried to OFF HIMSELF. Especially when Louie is manipulating Armand the way that he is and comes off so alfa male while Armand is there tragically submissive, STILL not showing how powerful he actually is because for him he genuinely loves Louie but for Louie, Armand is literally a rebound. It was so hard watching this episode. I wanted Armand to stand up for himself so badly and put Louie in his place and get him off his high horse
