Not flavourless lmao 😂I mean, he was mostly happy when he had his family in tact and he was even happy with Lestat before he decided he wanted a one way open relationship and saw how much Lestat enjoyed torturing people 😅 He's not built for this eternal life & I think that we're learning that nobody is... except Lestat because he don't really care about anything but having fun

the argument scene between armand and louis was actually assad zaman’s first scene playing armand if you can believe it!! everyone in this show is so so talented

Louis is literally a ticking time bomb and i think even Lestat saw that in him. His level of toxicity comes from within, where he's never really accepted who he is both when he was human and now when he's a vampire. And then he blows up when someone calls him out on his BS and shatters his delusions, but Louis is then able to switch and self-deprecate enough to pull people back in. I think that's why Lestat and Armand are so drawn to him. Louis' affections probably feel like a huge achievement for people who are as starved for love as they are

I had a thought the other night about the fact that Louis while not physically the most powerful is not stupid. He KNOWS that these men he is attracted to and he attracts are craving affection and he knows that the only thing he can withhold from them is that so he weaponises his affections. Louis withholds something from his partners knowing full well it’s what they NEED to hear from him, so he doesn’t feel like he’s ever without power. And unfortunately that breeds a toxic relationship because they will act up in hopes of getting just something from him and the way they act up often ends up hurting him (and a lot of the time Claudia) and because he was hurt he now feels that they slighted him so he withholds even more and it just continues this vicious cycle😭 SOMEBODY GET CLAUDIA OUT OF HERE

I think y’all are real hard on Louis. Like yes whack for Claudia cause he’s always gonna catch when it comes to her but I also feel like many folks have very little sympathy for Louis as he falls into these relationships with these toxic men. Louis withholding love from them is literally the only power he has in these relationships where this husbands (Lestat and Armand) can easily overtake at any point and HAVE! Idk yeah Louis’s not perfect but his worst crimes against these dudes is pulling back from them deservedly so when they keep h hurting him

No one is saying Louis deserves the abuse but we’re saying that the men he finds himself attracted to are powerful and he’s attracted to that power in part due to the fact that Louis is from a time where just being black and gay could get you killed…legally. He’s subconsciously seeking protection however he finds that he starts resenting them for being more powerful than him because then how is he going to protect himself against the super powerful beings when they turn on him? Me, personally, I want Lestat and Armand to spend a couple of lifetimes in jail however it doesn’t change the fact that at the end of each relationship cycle, the person LOUIS always lets down is CLAUDIA. And it’s not through malicious intent, they just arrive at vampirism with an emptiness in them and it grows the longer they live. I believe no creature could fill the void that comes from living so long and that’s why they’re constantly indulging in a way, why they get more and more predatory. It’s because they are constantly trying to fill the void and feelings of emptiness that come with being conscious of yourself and they can’t. Pointing out a pattern doesn’t mean we believe he always causes his own misery it’s acknowledging a character trait that Jacob plays well and the writers gave him for a reason

That Louis vs. Armand fight was so real with the burns against their personalities. I mean Lestat said the same thing about Louis whining for centuries to Daniel, at the end of the movie version. Young Daniel just said it to him too, and asked Louis to make him a vampire since Louis doesn't care for his vampiric state and powers. I think what Louis has been really looking for is a therapist. And let's give it up for Armand trying to get with present times ordering his food and Dashing for it. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Luke said that the scene was painful, and there was a masseuse on set to tend to his legs afterward.

The show paid for the masseuse at Luke's hotel to give him massages, not on set. That's actually giving a kind of bougie Armand energy though. "I mess up your hamstrings but get my on-call masseuse to sort you out". 😂😂😂 The two Daniels are fantastic. Eric and Luke are perfectly cast. ❤

You know what this is like? Your man does or says something trifling, so you key his car and bust some windows. Then you calm down and decide you still want to be with him. You get the car fixed, and pretend that that shit didn't happen. Now Louis is too Louis to actually let anything go (as evidenced by *gestures at whole show*) so you gotta get creative to get a clean slate. Wiping Louis's memory is just getting the car fixed 🤷🏽‍♂️😅

Loved the reaction! This ep was so good ❤ I feel another reason Armand refused to tell Louis that Lestat was telling him he loved him was not only the jealousy of their connection but the fact that Lestat never gave him that love and tenderness that he shows to Louis even though Louis couldn't hear him. I believe Jacob Anderson and Assad Zaman both said that Lestat kinda brings them together but is probably the same reason they can never really be together if that makes sense lol the acting is so good as always! And I think they did an awesome casting for young Daniel too! ❤

Being an Armand defender has blessed me with this episode. He was wicked, powerful, traumatized and HOT. Like he was having a ball all smiles after eating Malik, I love it here 😁 Their fight was too good like that’s the type of fight you have with someone you have spent so much time with. It was very much ‘you go low I take us to hell!’ They equally knew how to get the other where it hurts and they both used something the other needed to ‘get over it’: Louis needed Armand to help heal him and keep Daniel alive so he gave him ‘reassurance’ that no baby I love YOU you’re MY beige pillow princess idgaf about Lestat…like a liar. While Armand needed to feel loved and needed so he cleaned up Louis mess and healed him…after letting him suffer for a few days and tormenting him mentally with the potential that Lestat could find him in a time where if he HAD to defend himself, Louis COULD NOT. Daniel was just put in the middle of an immortal marriage slump, he just wanted drugs and to maybe sleep with Louis now he’s got trauma from vampires😭 (And fuck that French bitch Lestat I hate him from infinity to infinity 😭)

"My beige pillow princess"😂😂 Louis and Armand's fight was breathtaking (I honestly can't think of another word for it). It's so crazy because it while it shows that they're both frustrated with each other, Louis doesn't run away and withdraw into himself like he did with Lestat. Even in Dubai, they argue but continue to engage with each other. It's still toxic how they bottle things up and explode like that but so much of that fight showed how well they know each other, unlike when it always seemed like both Lestat and Louis couldn't really figure the other one out.

@@cyanrose499 right if we’re to take this fight and episode 4’s fight, Louis doesn’t completely withdraw after he and Armand fight and because we know Armand isn’t physically violent it becomes a push and pull. Do they talk things through? No, but they seem to at least initially handle conflict better than what we’ve seen of Louis and Lestat and that’s very interesting. I think it speaks to their dynamic as well as to how they stayed together all these years, it’s not Armand brainwashing Louis every damn day and clearly it’s not because Armand forces Louis to do everything he wants, I mean the man does not want this interview to be happening but he acquiesces. We’ve seen just a fraction of Armand’s power do we really think he couldn’t overpower Louis? That he couldn’t get Daniel out of there if he really wanted to? but he doesn’t because this is what Louis needs. Does he embellish other parts to sell a particular narrative? Yeah definitely. However the story he wants to sell is a way to keep his relationship together. there’s a reason they stayed together, because there’s comfort and companionship that comes from the other

Armand could totally wipe Louis' mind completely and implant himself solely as Louis' only love interest if he tried hard enough but he still allows him that bit of freedom and power in their decision making to have it feel as though Louis is the one choosing to be with him rather than him having to trap him. I think that's the main reason Louis and Armand have been able to work for so long. Louis needs the kind of relationship where he feels like things are on his terms and moving at his pace, while simultaneously handing over the "admin" work to his partner. The difference between Armand and Lestat's way of handling this is that Lestat fights for control just as fiercely, while Armand knows that real control with Louis is acting like you're giving in to his whims. And I wonder how much complacency Louis has in this dynamic too. It's become clear that he is able to read Armand and Lestat pretty well but why does he continue to cling on to these people rather than go off and live independently?

If San Francisco is the biggest mindfuck Armand has done, I think the betrayal will come from the fact that they didn’t make the choice TOGETHER you know? I think if they just fought and moved on without Armand erasing Louis‘s mind they would’ve probably been okay, so Louis might just feel more betrayed because it’s control taken from him rather than the actual fight was or what they said to each other. Had Armand had kept those memories of him fucking up Daniel, Louis would definitely be buying a ring right now because he loves him a toxic man and Armand showed him that he is not a boring diva, nobody can simply match his freak😭

@@NyikoDoris lmao! Exactly, Armand doesn't realise he's doing himself a disservice by acting like the good boy. Louis wants the bad boys😂😂 But I guess he's doing it all to try to make up for Paris. He believes that if he shows Louis how much he's willing to bend to him and serve his desires, it will make up for his actions before. I mean look at how freely Louis goes around sleeping with other people around Armand, yet he acted like a jealous boyfriend when Lestat had Antoinette! And then let's him clean up after "deleting" his victims, knowing how much Armand holds the vampire rules sacred. I feel like he does that to see if he can push Armand's buttons, the same way Lestat wanted to push Louis' buttons for his attention. Or maybe he just wants to prove that Armand is the real monster between the two of them? We can never know what's really going on in Louis' head🤔

Whew this was such a good episode. It answered so many questions but also left me with more. For example, I think Louis has a lot to process and work through, but I don't think he's even had the chance to do so... Is this because every time he starts to process Armand stops him and erases or hides pieces of his memory? Now Louis has so much to work through he's like a kettle full of hot water and steam. And Armand mentioned his part in the Paris situation. I'm guessing Louis has a lot of anger and resentment. I'm also sensing that maybe Armand has tampered with Louis' memories to keep him in the relationship. But at the same time, his tampering with his mind means Louis is dependent on him in weird ways. Anyways, it seems as if they're both sick of the other but still feel as if they need each other. And they need a vampire therapist.

I remember well when Louis was pressing Daniel to know what Alice said when he asked her to marry him and Daniel says all sad that she said no, then Armand said something like "she wanted to say yes but she didn't trust in you" and he seemed sad too, I remember finding that VERY suspicious and after this episode???? Daniel and Armand's chemistry???? It's crazy to think that Armand manipulated Daniel's memories more than it seems and Armand is Alice in Daniel's memories and Armand just replaced him with a random woman?? Also, Louis can't give himself to Armand because he acts like the submissive one in the relationship and Louis doesn't like being the dominant one. He wants to be chosen, just like Lestat did to him

First lol of the episode, ‘breaking into the library, hypnotise security, as one does, to lay down & look at the ceiling.’ Daniel: Hot. LMAO Loved Daniel’s example of syntax….Louis is circling something he doesn’t want to say. In 1973-Daniel really seemed like he was hot for Louis & expected to have sex with him. I defintely don’t like the cutting away scenes. Did the two of them lose time or did someone make them forget what happened next? Daniel seriously thought they had sex so Louis asked him if he wanted to now lol I wish he answered him! He was offering something off the menu. I have to praise Luke Brandon Field as young Daniel. He looks so much like older Daniel! I saw an interview that Eric Bogosian didn’t know that Luke as watching him work while he was preparing to be the younger Daniel. His mannerisms, the way he speaks, everything. And they’re not even related, amazing! “Are you the Zodiac killer?!” Hahaha cuz he shows him his fangs? What a scene when he asks for ‘the gift’. Daniel is all hyped up on cocaine, pills & whatever else. “Give it to me” Oh nooooooo that did it. I would think that Louis would be ‘old’ enough to have more control over himself. The berating between Louis & Armand was awful. They were so cruel to each other. Boring, dull, beige, so hurtful. I think Louis has always been mentally crippled & never should have been turned. Yes, he drank from a drugged up Daniel so it all was in his system, talking to himself then going suicidal. God, that looked painful!!! His skin literally falling off his body. The make-up in this series Is epic! The writing, the acting, the editing, everything! What is AMC doing, not promoting this Show? These actors need to be recognized! Armand is such a jealous person. All he wanted was to be loved & have security in his life becuz of his abusive backstory. So, of course, he grew up super needy. What did Armand mean by, asking Daniel, “I’ve been calling for you for some time?” What??? For what? Why?? So it definitely seems like Armand manipulated both of Louis & Daniel’s memories. Louis looked so pissed when Armand comes back, after his ‘lunch’. My new favorite episode! Sorry, I know I write novels but i can't help it, it's too exciting!

Louis was blackened catfish 🤣😂🤣 I love your commentary but I have to disagree on one thing. Louis and Lestat aren’t a great love story. They’re a toxic waste dump. Lestat beat Louis like pancake batter and dropped him from the sky because he didn’t believe Louis loves him. And Louis is so broken, what he actually loves toxicity and drama and then he loves to complain about how everyone has done him wrong. Armand peeped his cards and read them. Lestat told Louis point blank, if you want me to leave you alone I will. Armand told him if you want to be released from this prison of empathy, just say so. Louis took Lestat back and then complained things were still terrible. He told Armand Lestat was just his maker and stayed with Armand another 50 years. Louis told Claudia they were each other’s ride or die knowing that wasn’t true and that he had Lestat on the brain. Most of Louis’ relationships were toxic including with his raggedy family. 🤣😂🤣😂 If you can’t tell, this is my favorite show. 😂😂

It is a messed up love triangle now with Louie Lestat and Armand … but it is toxic. Lestat in season 1 said he was a lonely bastard and didn’t want to be alone and had abandonment issues which was prominent throughout their relationship, Louie was stricken, lost his brother lost his mothers love and lost Miss lily and I believe Lestat killed Louie’s brother and Lilly in order to have him all for himself sense he stated in season one he doesn’t like to share his love. He wanted Louie all to himself, lol he’s so abusive 😅😂😂😂

Did you notice that when Lestat is speaking through Armand to Louis that the audio of him yelling “Louis!” at the end is the exact audio from season 1 episode 5, right before Lestat assault? I think Armand really did manipulate the memory and it may not have happened like that.

In all honesty I actually hope it has the same beats of 1x05 because if not then it’s a tired ass trope of “they were lying on the good white man” knowing full well that black victims are never taken seriously especially Claudia who is a victim but this very fandom refuses to see her as one, so I really hope that the abuse she writes about in her diaries and the way she described it did happen. Maybe they can say Louis fought back more than we saw but the fact that he got mollywhopped and dropped from the sky I think should stay the same. It’ll also drive home the fact that these creatures love in a very different way than humans and that at the end of the day this is a Gothic horror romance and what’s more fucked up than going back to somebody who has hurt you and your child?
