They didn't pay him well enough. They might gave some amount of money for his acting, but they didn't tell (educate) him how to use and manage the money properly. He is part our childhood memories, even as Indonesians we knew who he was, we watched his movie back in 90s. Rest in Love Legend.

It is sad to see that much of Africa is still so poor. This movie made my childhood in Vietnam very happy. We were equally poor in the 90s, but now Vietnam is developing so fast and we no longer see real poverty. We export a lot, we have jobs and a better life for everyone, but Africa seems to be the same in the 90s.
