Damn, Mike got the man who doesnt really do interviews. The author of the greatest series ever. Well done Mike!
Behind the lightsaber, the razor is my favorite fantasy/scifi weapon
Thank God for Pierce’s brain. This saga has truly been an incredible ride. So glad he’s powered through the struggles to get it to us.
"I made him become my friend." 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It is amazing how literary Pierce can be even in conservation, although I think his sense of humor shines the most. When he stated that Simmons must have been struck by lighting in order to have written Hyperion. I was floored by that comment! So happy to hear that Dune & Hyperion are his biggest inspirations. I will start his series soon as well as the rest of F. Herbert ‘s Dune series.
What an amazing interview! So interesting and engaging, I cannot wait to read beyond Morning Star!

Mike it’s really great to watch your channel grow. Cheers to you mate keep up the great work.
another great interview mike, so glad you finally got to interview Pierce!
Great interview pierce brown is a real charming guy
Thanks for making this happen Mike! Excellent interview! Loved hearing that the Cassius/Darrow dynamic is inspired by The Fox and The Hound… I’m also really hoping that the series gets adapted by Apple TV.
Great video! It was very interesting to hear him talk about his writing process and decision-making. He seems like a great guy too.
Such a great interview. Very cool and town-to-earth author. This has made me add him to my tbr.
What a great interview… long time coming, congrats Mike! Hope this grows the channel big time! 🤘🍻
great interview, dropped everything to watch this entire interview. Thanks!
Incredible video - Pierce seems so genuine, and the whole interview was just relaxed and chilled. I started Dark Age last night and now I've never been more psyched to read a book that sounds like it's going to destroy me 🐺

Damn time differences, I couldn't watch it live. Great interview! And thank you so much for asking my question, Mike!
So glad you did this interview! And I’m super happy there are spoilers
I read and enjoyed Red Rising way back in like 2015, and then for some reason stopped there. I was already thinking about going back and starting again with the new book coming out this summer, but this interview definitely cemented that. Love the way Pierce approaches the craft of writing, and his influences and outlook for this series and in general. Great interview, Mike!

Great interview Mike! Pierce is such a cool guy, so down to earth
I think this is my new favourite booktube author interview! 🔥 Great to have an answer on my question regarding strength training, I'd been wondering about that since RR. Cool that he's doing bouldering/rock climbing now, and that his sports and teamplay experience have been very influential for his writing! Thanks Mike ❤
Awesome interview, so fun to watch!
This is awesome, great chat guys!
Great interview Mike 👍 I've had Lightbringer on pre-order for months, soo excited 😬
Amazing interview coaxed me into yet ANOTHER re-read.....Now i have a giant HEADACHE!!! 😫😫😫😫 Finished RR about 11 AM this morning, and started GS right after.....stopped just before the Gala...ill pick that up tomorow i guess. Night all... lol
I promise once I’ve finished the last 2 books ill come back and watch this!
Awesome interview. Can’t wait for Light Bringer.
Such a great interview. Can barely contain myself waiting for the release of Light Bringer but I’ll just keep rereading the other books until I get my hands on it

GREAT INTERVIEW! How would ANYONE reject these AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING novels????
Oh man I hope Pierce has heard something behind the scenes about Doors of Stone but I think it's more likely what he heard is talk about the new version of the novella, The Lightning Tree? Anyway fantastic interview Mike! So happy you managed to lock it in.
A prequel to Red Rising would be really interesting, something that tells the story of the evolution of the society over the few hundred years prior to Red Rising.
Super dope. PB is so cool. Spit out my drink at EO’s dance hahaha
Now that I'm done Dark Age, I'm ready to watch this!!!📖🥰📚
Amazing interview
This series is definitely one of my most favorites I've ever read
Joe Abercrombie... Is my co favorite author. Maybe why I loved dark age so much. Looking forward to how this seems to be a return to Darrow and his personal development in this one. Really excited for everything really..didn't realize it's been 4 years.
"Darrow is the presiding voice in this one." YES!!!
Great fucking interview Mike. You have literally made my tbr. You iflluenced me to get Into Stephen King and now pierce brown. 2 of my favorite authors now. Golden Son was fucking awesome.
I have never loved a book series like Red Rising. Dark Age is a masterpiece in my opinion so excited for Light Bringer
Thank you 🙏
Omg I am sooooo looking forward to reading Victra
great work both
Oh my gosh, I was totally envisioning Octavian (who became Augustus) from the HBO Rome series when I was reading Lysander’s parts, and he just said that he had Augustus in mind when he wrote it. I love that character because he was so politically savvy at such a young age.
I will be back after my reread and first read of the second trilogy. Forgot how awesome Golden Son is.
Brown seems cool as hell. I'm sold on Red Rising; just picked up the first two books.

OMG The Pierce Brown I never knew you’d be so young or maybe you just look young but love your books man “getting around to em” WOW How’d you write like that so young!
Personal (but worthwhile) anecdote: In 2017, my brother and I ventured to some burrow of Chicago (that I forget the name of) in order to see Pierce Brown give a speech at a particular college/university hall. I myself had not yet read ANY of his books, but I wanted to journey with my brother (who had) nonetheless. When we get to the lobby of some particular lecture hall, my bother immediately b-lined for the restroom (long journey from where we began), and I was left with loitering around the lobby. It wasn't long before I noticed a man sitting on a bench in the middle of the lobby who looked exactly like the guy on the backflap of my brother's so revered "Red Rising" novels. . . I kind of looked at him from 20 ft or so, and he said "who are YOU here for?" And I said to him, "You're the guy on my brother's backflap." I told him that I actually hadn't read his books, but my brother had; but nevertheless, I was enamored with his works due to my brother's reporting. When my brother came back, Pierce told him that he looked like a "Red."
Jezal has always been my favorite character from the first trilogy of First Law. Love that Pierce likes him too

Can't say I appreciated the spoiler tho 😒 Only just started Before They're Hanged 😭
Missed it live 😢
Listening to the first one on audible. Kinda wish I was reading it instead. The reader is great, but it's pretty jolting hearing an old irish dude read the role of a 16 year old boy. Gonna keep going with it, but I will likely buy these all and read them down the road as well.
Pierce want just being humble about the marketing for red rising. I remember being at NYCC and they were literally handing them out. And look at me now, hooked.
It's awesome how many authors in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy world are willing to come on and just shoot the shit.

I talked to Lydia Kang (who has written on Star Wars) and there are a lot of cooks in the kitchen ;) Loved Red Rising though :)
Can't believe he threw away two drafts. Glad he was able to do that for the integrity of a story and still make pull out of it!

These books are better than any movie, TV show, or book series out there! Had to re-read all 5 to hold me over until Lightbringer. So unsure how to feel about Lysander! What y’all think?

I loved the first three books. But the perspective shift in IRON GOLD deterred me from reading…I love Pierce but I just couldn’t get into that. Maybe I will try again. As a writer myself I use Darrow’s anger for my protagonist in my new series and Pierce you are a inspiration. Raw and gritty is an understatement.

Iron gold for me is the weakest book. Still has some good moments though. But dark age, oh my god dark age. If you like raw and gritty that's the book for you.

@@Alexander-tu3iv I do love raw and gritty. I write raw and gritty myself but him doing the 4th book and throwing the POV switch bothered me. I didn’t care for those characters. I didn’t understand them. It just didn’t make sense when the other 3 were from Darrow’s perspective. I get why he did it but those other narrators just felt off maybe I will have to give it another try.
