Even way before Grayham muffins But before (in their debut) he used to speak a lot more atleast in TV show, now he's more silent (and Minho went from the silent one to the one who speaks a lot - again, in TV show)

Don't misunderstand, people. Jjong wasn't hiding behind smiles. Last time i saw him at SWC5 in Jakarta he wasn't his usual bubbly self, he was exhausted and fans thought he had a fever. He talked a lot about difficulties on his blue night radio and during interviews. He cried oceans at concerts. He was never hiding that he's having a hard time. The people who cared to look/listen knew that he was unwell, he tried to save himself as best he could and we tried to be by his side and make him feel loved as best we could.

9 years of SHINee :') My only regret is not knowing them sooner, I wish I was there since debut but better late than never. Shinee is the reason main reason I never fully dropped out of kpop. Onew had me at first smile. (And his voice. HIS VOICE.) On a more serious note, is anyone else relieved that Onew has quit drinking? I mean a few drinks on a weekly basis is obviously fine but I remember back when the rest of Shinee and other celebrities would regularly mention his ability to hold his alcohol and be able to outdrink everyone. I feel like SK has an unhealthily tendency to glorify (heavy) drinking, especially with men. Just from listening to celebrities alone I wouldn't be surprised if a large number of Koreans were (high functioning) alcoholics without even realizing it. I know some drinking stories are exaggerated but then you often see people being impressed/amazed instead of worried about someone's drinking ability.

I agree. I also know that around the same time that members were commenting on his drinking habits (and that he would drink alone), sm mentioned something about him joining a depression therapy group (which makes me think he was drinking as a coping mechanism). I'm glad he's stopped drinking, and he seems genuinely happier, healthier, and more full of life now ^_^

randomapple64 Him occasionally drinking alone wasn't too worrisome to me - he's always felt like an introvert to me and introverts regularly need some time alone to recharge themselves. Minho was the only who really complained about that whereas the rest of the group, especially Key and Jonghyun, can understand why Onew needs that alone time. (Obviously if he did that all the time nearly every day I'd be worried but with their buzy schedule I doubt he really had the time/energy to go and get completely drunk by himself often.) As for the depression therapy group... I don't remember SM mentioning that? Or are you talking about the "milk" group?

As an introvert myself, i completely understand needing time alone. However, from how others talked, it seemed like it was more than just needing some alone time. I can't speak for him, nor do I know him, but from what I've heard that's what it seemed like to me. Especially since Onew would look slightly uncomfortable when it was questioned (which i feel like he probably wouldn't if he was just needing to chill? idk). And yeah, I was talking about the "milk" group. It's a depression support group SM idols can go to to learn ways to cope and also be around people who are in the same situation and understand how they feel. I don't know too many details, but whatever the reason, I'm glad that he's stopped drinking and is starting to care about his health, and that he seems overall happier now, regardless of the reason :)

randomapple64 To my knowledge Minho has been the only who has ever really brought that up in a serious way and even then imo it just looked to me like Onew wasn't expecting Minho to mention that? It looked more to me like he didn't know how to explain to Minho that the concern was unnecessary. Key was very vocal in defending Onew but even then you could still see that Minho just didn't understand a person's need to be alone for no specific reasons sometimes. As for the Milk Club, I only remember Eeteuk talking about this once and rather casually so it's hard to really judge from this whether it was an actual depression therapy group or simply several SM idols/leaders who bonded for a little while from being in similar situations. From some of the things Teuk has mentioned since he has completed his military service, he seems to hint at recognizing he had clinical depression only after the family tragedy happened, and this was years after he mentioned the Milk Club.

I came late to #SHINee but I am so grateful I finally found them. They may not be as trendy as other groups today but they are so unique, so talented, so warm, and so real that ppl are finding and loving them anyway. I went from being a casual listener to a complete Shawol as I heard more of their music and learned more and more about them. SHINee, please continue to make your own way, defy trends, and march to your own drum, and your true Shawols will slways keep marching right by your side 💕

Minho can still make me breathless after four years 😘😘😘

When you look at the amount of people in the stadium, it makes you realise that they have so many fans. I mean it's only a small amount of their Korean fan base, so there are more who weren't at the concert and there's the international fan base. It kind of hits you hard because you realise how many fans mourned Jonghyun at the time of his death. The amount of people who had a terrible christmas in 2017 and just the whole fan base, know a person has gone when they love him so much. When a member of a group leaves the group, its usually because of personal problems or controversies surrounding them, but in this case its tragic and touching. People watching this when it was uploaded would look at it and probably smile a lot, but watching it 3 + years later is totally different. You simply feel awful for those shawols watching this in May 2017, as they would have no idea what the near future for SHINee would be like. But I feel like Jonghyun left all of us, such great music, on a solo level and through his songwriting and voice with SHINee, that the sadness doesn't affect me as much. I agree with shawols who write "don't remember him for his death, remember him for who he was". Just listen to Jonghyun music and SHINee and feel grateful for what he did for us all. From tears of sorrow to tears of joy.

THIS SHOULD BE LONGER. Anyway, I love these people. They´re not only my favorite group but they´re also my role models. I want to become a better person thanks to them and my life has never been better. I pray to God that they´ll always be happy and full of blessings.
