Nice interview with Natasha but it would be interesting to know why there have been so few anti-war protests from Russians in Georgia. Are they scared for their families back in Russia? Or are they just selfishly apathetic and depoliticized?

My Mom was in a somewhat analogous situation as Natasha is while she was a bit *stranded* in the Kowloon Peninsula of Hong Kong. People who have been living under Communism don't want what bad things happened to others to happen to them so they try to stay out of politics. It's not that they don't know what the problems of Communism are. Demonstrations are largely futile. There are some concerns about "the people who have been left behind" because politics permeates *EVERYTHING* under Communism. The political escapees from Communism obviously don't want to harm others left behind by their non-circumspect speeches or actions. Staying *apolitical* on the surface is the prudent way for them.
