Metal fans are some of the most open-minded and closed-minded fans at the same time.

how is a metal fan not enjoying a non-metal album being close-minded? They are a metal band that release an ambient album, obviously many metal fans won't necessarily enjoy it

I experienced a lot of close minded metal fans growing up back in the day but then I went to Roadburn festival and I realised there were loads of metal fans like myself

the irony is the same people slagging off Timewave Zero, the B side of Luminescent Bridge & whatever is coming next are the same people who have no problem listening to Varg of Burzum's ambient stuff (even though a lot of it is extremely crap) sadly the metal scene these days is just overrun with brain-dead knuckledraggers who just wanna drink beer and headbang and anything that isn't a carbon copy of the first 4 Suffocation albums is verboten. sad really.

Wow this was a ridiculously good interview! Both of them sound like cool guys but also extremely smart and well educated about music. I hope to see them live someday and talk to them after the show.

The ultimate scene to listen to this new record is climb on your roof put your little earbuds in and stare at space. This album blew me away dude. If anyone’s listened to Paul’s personal sci-fi synth stuff this record should of been no surprise.

Great interview Robert. I got into these guys around when Hidden History of the Human Race was released and that ended up being one of my favorites of 2019. I've always loved these guys spacey approach to death metal.

Holy smokes awesome interview you're really good at asking intuitive questions. Paul and Isaac are very astute in their knowledge with music history, but more important their liking for all genres of music. When I heard they were exploring soundtrack music with ambient sounds I was super stoked and now anticipating what direction they go next is very exciting.

I mean seriously, the vibe on Timewave Zero combined with the natural existential dread/wonder that many people get when confronted with the insignificance of human existence in comparison to the vastness of the universe, would blow minds!

I recently found this band and holy shit, they are good. I like Morbid Angel and Death vibes. I have always liked ambient, so I really like timewave zero. Just ordered mini-ep and three albums in cd format. Can`t wait to have them.

Loved this interview, i think more people need to open up to what that mentality of a band just being a band and not a genre. Also them saying "talk to you later" instead of just "bye" was so cool to me, its a simple thing but it really shows how down to earth these guys are.

Great interview man! Really insightful questions and I like how smoothly everything flows. Idk Isaac was in Wayfarer until now so that’s really cool. Also when they brought up eventually having their ambient side and death metal side coming together, I couldn’t help but imagine them doing something like Neurosis did with Tribes Of Neurot where the Times Of Grace and TON’s Grace albums are separate albums that are meant to be together at the same time with one being heavy and the other being a more experimental ambient record.

Good interview. I always prefer to interview with multiple members as well, you get different points of view and opinions. I think the name of the album sounded like a spacey record, i dug it, sounds like a sci fi movie soundtrack.

There's a song by Celtic Frost from their last album, Monotheist, that is super ambient! The song is called "Totengott". It is a 4-minute ambient interlude that sounds like a DSBM [depressive suicidal black metal] track.

I stopped listening to Death Metal in my early twenties and went on to other genres like prog, post-metal and ambient. I also went nuts going deep into the 70's krautrock and ambient stuff mentioned here (Tangerine Dream, Popol Vuh etc.) and also the new age hippie yoga music stuff. I never thought I'd listen to Death Metal again until the teaser of Hidden History randomly popped up on my feed. I was intrigued and now I have a new favorite band.

As a metalhead with a wide and varied taste in music in addition to metal, Timewave Zero was different from their previous output, but not out of left field. The vibe of the album is perfectly in line with their metal albums, it's just not metal. Either way, Blood Incantation have become a new favorite of mine due to the psychedelic and progressive elements that are seamlessly incorporated into their style of death metal.

To me Timewave Zero is the band building and expanding a world and theme of Blood Incantation. It’s a Hobbit to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. What I would give to hear this record in a planetarium holy shit…definitely not on acid or high tho cuz I would see Yog-Sothoth emerging from behind a star and probably shit myself in public
