We've asked! Working on this from multiple people.
So on the one hand I appreciate his encouragement for folks going to non t14s but on the other hand whatever that non14 might be, being the top 5% of the class won't even land an interview at his firm? Not a job offer but an interview?

I think that might not quite be right and will re-listen. But I believe Jeff said he recruits at the top 30 schools. I then asked if I were to become dean of the 100th ranked school would he interview students in the top 5% and he said he'd more likely interview my #1/#2 ranked student at that school.
