Cincinnati, Ohio, where Berninger grew up, often serves as inspiration when he is jotting down lyrics to his band's next song. The city's denizens fall on every end of the political, economic, and social spectrums. Berninger has been a firsthand witness to the struggles that the divides among these communities can bring on, all while growing distant from his hometown.

I'm always curious what an artist was thinking when they wrote lyrics but I regret getting the answer sometimes. Often an artist will stay silent and allow the listener to interpret as they will. When you dissect something, it usually dies.
I still owe money on the money I owe its the Juice (not the orange one, with lots of fructose)

How is he ignorant? All he basically said was that people shouldn't go into financial ruin if you get into an accident.
