Mr Gul is an Advocate Supreme Court and Former Test Cricketer of Pakistan. He has also taken part in Politics and remained a confidante Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Former Premier of Pakistan. He went into exile during Zia regime when was sentenced to 96 years imprisonment in different politically motivated cases.
He belongs to Marxist School of thought and remains a staunch critic of the present structure of Power and Politics in Pakistan.

I respect the political analytical abilities of Mr. Aftab Gul . . . Naeem Bukhari calls him his political guru . . . Aftab Gul is a graduate of Cathedral High School, Mall Road, Lahore (opposite Lahore High Court). As I am also a Cathedralite, I have this bond with him as well. Anyway, Mr. Aftab Gul was born in 31st March, 1946 in Gujjar Khan, British India. Add 12 years to his date of birth, and I am guessing he passed his Senior Cambridge (O-Level) exams in 1958. I have just started watching this video (27th August, 2019 7pm, Toronto). I am guessing he may have spent two years in Intermediate (F.A.) in Government College (1959-1960) and may have spent four years in Lahore's Law College (1961-1964) and became a lawyer. In the Lahore of mid-1960s he started his career as a lawyer in Lahore. The events of the 1965 India-Pakistan war and the following two years involving Peace Talks with India in Tashkent, USSR precipitated in Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto revolting from Pakistan's military establishment and forming the Pakistan People's Party in 1967. Aftab Gul became a student leader and became a valiant follower of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. I have started watching this video interview of Aftab Gul since many independent thinking TV news anchors of Pakistan like Najam Sethi, Talat Hussain, Nusrat Javed and many more have been removed from Pakistan's TV channels and have taken refuge in KZread channels . . . This man, Aftab Gul, is worth listening to . . . he is a brave man who speaks the Truth no matter what . . . he was also a stylish Test batsman during the 1968-69 and 1971 years . . . May he live long . . .
