You got the point about "do not forget the Tarja Era of Nightwish". I approve. However, you're wrong about that there's no Nightwish anymore. In fact they really are. Just as Tuomas said, it would be the best to shut up about the whole thing. I understand why he thinks this way after 7 years. Although, hardly I could when the whole thing has happened. NW has proved they have not just one face, one voice. Their created world around the songs that truly make them what they really are.

Well, i think they put their fingers very official on tarja with that open letter. Of course, they had to explain why she was kicked out of the band, but the open letter was very cruel i think. You don't blame someone in the public, that's not nice. So i think tuomas ( even if i have to say he is an absolutely mastermind about writing songs), should not react this angry or "pissed of", he himself made it public, so of course people have an opinion and ask questions. He wanted to have those people on his side by doing this, and now he sees that he gets blamed for it. Maybe he didn't see it coming, that people would find it unfair to do that. They might have had their reasons to made this decision, but tuomas: You made your bed, so sleep in it. It's just the way it is. If you're sorry for what you did, then apologize to her. If you're not sorry, then don't react like that. ( that's my very unprofessional opinion) 🙃

Gotta say, I think it's not that simple. At first Tuomas had idea of having some short project, acoustic guitar, singing, keyboards... Then Tuomas and Emppu heard Tarja singing, and decided to make bigger music. So yes, there wouldn't all this beautiful music without Tuomas, but it was Tarjas voice that kinda gave Tuomas opportunity to make this great music. Now NIghtwish is bigger than ever and they are doing great with Floor.

I suppose you haven't watched Tarja's press confrence, have you? Marcelo didn't negotiate nor decide the rewards from the gigs. He was only Tarja's agent, it was Nightwish the band's agents that negotiated the rewards from the gigs. Tarja and Marcelo wanted less gigs because Tarja's voice couldn't do 5 gigs a week, the tours were too heavy for her. They tried to cut smaller gigs away, and for that they were blamed to be greedy. But I ask you, which is greedy, to cut the number of gigs, or to not agree to that and drive your vocalist exhausted instead?

Maybe Tarja has learned from mistakes she made before being dismissed.... both sides I'm sure said some things they shouldn't have....but, there all adults, maybe they could work it out.... and I for one would love to see them get back together. Too me it's all so sad and Tuomas looks so sad when he talks about it. I would just like to see Tuomas and Tarja work there magic together again. Sometimes there is something incestuous about band member relationships, this is when in a band there are both males and females who are heterosexual. They can't help it, they travel together, stay together, play together, stick together through thick and thin. They either succeed or fail together, and each and every show may be a gamble because music other than folk or classical can be very emotional to play and sing.

Well. The band has stated that they didn't talk for a year. Tarja has said that they were never friends. Gotta ask, are you a Finn? If you're not, you have no idea what media circus there was for weeks and MONTHS in Finland after they kicked Tarja out. In that time Nightwish wasn't underground at all, everyone listened Nightwish or atleast knew them. Every damn magazine was full of Nightwish: what happened, is this end of Nightwish, did Tuomas make the decision alone, where is Tarja, what really happened, is someone lying, is Tuomas in love with Tarja... On and on for months. Marco has said that medias point of view was something like: "Oh, so you then fired princess of Finland". And that is what it exactly was. And Tuomas alone took all the shit because he handled the media circus. Of course it was hard for Tarja too, I don't say that. But I think that it's so awfull that still this day some people say really nasty things of Tuomas, that he is a psycho and does all the decisions in the band.

Stephen, considering Tarja isn't in a regular band, she has done really well. Was Floor's Northward, Marko's Tarot or Tuomas' Auri bigger hits than Tarja? 3 x no. When did Nightwish sell platinum in Russia? Never, but Tarja has sold double platinum. Even her Christmas album sold 2 x platinum in Finland. She is very popular in Finland, Russia and Central Europe. She regularly makes top 5 in the Finnish list and in top 10 many other countries. Tarja doesn't only perform, but also composes her own songs either alone or in collaboration with someone else. I think what matters to her is that she likes what she does.

He is still rude even to us , their fans. Wtf mean is shut up ? Or this is non of our business ? Anybody can say their opinions . Anybody can discuss. I hate them for their sick letter , their sick words about '' cultural differences combined with love...'' This is a shame ! I can't even listen their old songs anymore. Because their band relationship was a lie and i can't stand this.

+Hande Ozenc Look, expressing an opinion and pointing fingers is not the same thing. Try to look at it from his point of view, we the fans were not there when the whole Tarja dismissal thing happened, and we certainly don't know what their "band relationship" was like(the DVDs can only show you so much), therefore he says it's none of our business to pass judgment when we don't have all the facts. In his view, we were the rude ones. We're not part of the Nightwish entourage involved with the band's behind the scenes politics, we're just fans. Fans buy their records and go to their shows, but they do not take part in anything that happens with the band on a personal level. Therefore from Tuomas' standpoint, the band doesn't owe us explanations about it. Sure, he should've chosen his words better, but he was visibly annoyed with the interviewer and at the time this interview occurred(2007), the whole thing was still relatively new and they were sick and tired of talking about it. Try to put yourself in his shoes and you might see where he was coming from, despite not choosing the best words for it. Besides, Tuomas is not really known for giving the best interviews. That's usually either Marco or currently Floor. Interviews with Tuomas almost always feel kind of awkward.

Let's be honest Nightwish continued to have a great career without Tarja. And again her solo career has flopped. And last but not least, when 4 people agreed to kick her out of the band, maybe she was the problem.

Or those 4 people agreed with him as they all co-signed the letter and stayed in the band for 10-15 years after which they wouldn't have done if they considered it was such a morally reprehensible thing done against their wishes. Or Anette was causing conflict by demanding tours be cancelled/postponed instead of accepting a temporary replacement because of her ego. If Tuomas is "the problem" then... you don't even have Nightwish. The way people speak like lineup changes are such an abhorrent, unusual thing is funny.
