Interview Anna Varney Cantodea (Sopor Aeternus) audio. Sub fr.

Музыка

First question for english: "Could you talk about your relation with Poe’s work? Is he the poet that left the most powerful mark on you? I feel that your entire work is touched by the shadow of Poe, and that Poe’s poetry is a way for you to tell the depths of your soul…"
Interview d'Anna Varney Cantodea (Sopor Aeternus) par Vincent Tassy pour le magazine Obskure en 2013. Au sujet de l'album Poetica et de sa vision de Poe.

the seductiveness and hypnotic tone in your vocalization of words and the depth of character through which they speak take my breath away. You are beautiful Miss Anna Varney and rich beyond measure. i am humbled and enthralled by your expressive talent for you are truely present in a league and class all of your own. as an entertainer and story-teller you have brought peace to the darker side of my mind and I cherish my connection to the emotional reflections of your soul. thank you.

I started reading edgar allan poe in 5th grade. I was so happy when in 6th grade I found a collection of stories with pictures and paintings to accompany the poems and stories. Then as an older teenager i finally got to see Vincent Price in the film adaptations. I adore Vincent Price

So I heard a song by this artist on a CD called Call on the Dark. I thought it was so bizarre that I looked more into the artist. Honestly I wish I hadn't. I like a lot of odd things. I'm all about horror and darkness. My favorite music is old school goth (shout out to Christian death and Rozz). But for whatever reason this person terrifies me. I thought I was really open-minded up until this point but apparently I need to work on myself. She has literally given me nightmares. NIGHTMARES! I can't explain it. Just something about the presentation is so unsettling that I can't handle it. It was actually hard for me to look them up again but I did because a friend asked me why it would be so horrifying. I guess it's not really. Not sure why I shared all that but it's true.

J'ai de la peine pour les journalistes qui lui ont demandé si les courts moments instrumentaux sans paroles dans certaines chansons étaient dus au fait qu'il aurait oublié les paroles? Completement beside the point ces journaleux.

Amazing artist, I can really sense the sadness in the songs. I'm a bit let down to find that it's in fact a man behind the persona. I always imagined that it is a woman singing and expressing her self in a way I've never heard a woman doing it before. The sadness, the anger, the dispair, the disgust I could hear in the songs coming from what I believed was a woman, was fascinating and unique. Women also feel those emotions, but rarely express them in such way, in such manner. I can think of many male fronted bands dealing with the same themes but not a single one with a female song writer and singer. I will continue to listen to the music and will try to forget about the artist behind the music.

SHE IS A WOMAN Maybe you don't know much about science but here's a fun fact for you Gender is determined by the structure of your brain not your genitilia So a trans women's brain structure is similar to a cis woman Hence the feelings that you are talking about are represented by a female And i hope this helped you with your ignorance

@@syntheticsilkwood2206 brains are linked to behavior. Just like smart people having more folds and idiots have smooth brains, certain behaviors impact brain development. Still it's all theories just like what you came up with. However science has confirmed that men have XY chromosomes, while women have XX. If we'd test his DNA, you'd see XY. Less scientific and more logical difference is he cannot get pregnant nor does he menstruate. Although if he was a woman he'd be past the menopause hense his age. What you live in is a fairy tale, in reality he's a man with mental illness. Still great artist

I almost wanted to write maybe it’s the initial incentive of art itself that it often develops a life of its own and doesn’t have to be in direct contact with the artist anyway. And that’s what makes it transcendental. As much as I can say yes to this interpretation of her personality and music, another rather opposite thought occurred to me: Not interested in putting herself in the spotlight, it is nevertheless she who gifts us this wonderful extraworldly music. She creates from a variety of sources. Often the music is created out of her feelings and life experiences. That should be appreciated. She is the main driver of this band, she is the initial and the potential. What she does is hard work, not only in terms of making and distributing products, but also in terms of spirituality and identity. Even though an artists product develops a life on its own, it still wouldn't exist with the artists first dedication and courage tt the upcoming process of creating art. It’s a confrontation with her life, and that’s why I’m not separating her from her art. It is her project, please give it the necessary honor and think again about the questions that came up in your mind about men and woman, maybe this can even be an interesting process of understanding something new for you. As old concepts fade new concepts are created which is by the way then Art itself.
