This was the first song I ever heard from sopor aeternus, after I had probably the darkest period of my life in my teens and it resonated so deeply

I don't know what you people are all arguing about. All I know is that this is one creepy, sick, haunting music video. That's why its awesome. It's pretty hard to film and record something creepy and dark without it seeming cheesy or over the top. This was pulled of perfectly.

Anna-Varney takes a lot of her inspiration from Deathrock singer Rozz Williams, but most of her music is very different from his. Sopor’s genres range from somewhat-Deathrock, to Neo-Midevil, to Neo-classical, to Electronica and beyond. So what you hear is very different from what you would hear from other goth artists like Christian Death, Bauhaus, The Cure, Lebanon Hanover, Tragic Black, etc. Anna has her own style that was influenced by the gothic subculture and her fanbase is almost a subculture of its own, as many people have said what you said. I think I am one of the few Sopor fans who actually is deeply into the goth subculture.🖤

Its fingernails,before becoming Anna,the dude would go to goth clubs in and near Frankfurt/Germany while having very long fingernails. Like a witch or a dancing demon like in the video He also got depressed so hard,he slept for days and didn't leave the house and the melodies in his head became basis for his record

Maybe I am reading too much into it, but given the reference to the concept of Being, the singer's body dysmorphia and gender dysphoria, thus a negative outlook on physicality plus a philosophical stance akin to the buddhist maxim "Life is suffering", the goat may be a metaphor for Baphomet, itself an allegorical figure which represents the essence of Being and the laws of duality (light dark, positive negative, the cycle of creation and destruction etc) that govern our universe, and who can be considered the Demiurge of the gnostics

I'm still not sure what this is about. Is the goat offering the seduction of suicide, or is it drug addiction? He is offering a way out from pain and fear, but the singer clearly knows he is not the way out, the goat is trying to deceive her - but she feels there might not be any other way out. Any other theories? Very curious!
