@@cloroxbleach9222 what youre imagining is a spaceship floating in outer space like a car on a motorway... the intelligence and qualifications required for space travel is far beyond what you're considering. Interstellar is an amazing movie but reality works differently. For example a wormhole (which btw is only theoretical) bends the space time continuum in such a manner that any human or spacecraft to go inside one would be ripped apart and would never come out in one piece. Your fairytale about how anyone can be qualified for space travel is not real.

This song is a TRUE masterpiece. Its long, constant and vibrating notes flow into our bodies and penetrate our minds. It gives nostalgia to some people, concentration to others, talks about love to some, or about time to others. Everybody's perception of this music is different, but one thing is sure and general: this song deeply affects us, in one way or another. I personally listen it to study or when I look at the stars. This song makes me question the sole existence of humanity, and makes me realize how tiny humans are. I personally think that this song represents time, time in its infinite grandiosity, it's long, constant existence and repetition, and I think that deep in our minds being confronted (even indirectly)to such a big thing affects us deeply, and makes us question a lot of things.

I gotta be honest with ya. The only reason why I'm not killing myself now is because I don't want to give the people that I love that kind of emotional trauma. You know, that emotional trauma that makes you break down and permanently cripples you until the very end of your days. I can't do that them. I may have no future since I was screwed up from the day I was born, but I'm still trying to hang in there. :(

ΛutistiЄ Hey, I may be a week late... but better late than never. Here’s a comment left on a Reddit post that just might give you the hope you need to keep moving forward. Here's the thing about life. On the one hand, none of it matters. Many philosophers come to this conclusion and cannot figure out why anyone should care either way. Human beings will expand from Earth to the next galaxy and the next and then what? Our technology will increase without bounds. Life will constantly change for our species but, as a whole, we don't have a goal nor a well-defined purpose nor a mission statement for humanity. We are just trudging through the universe one day at a time. This is why people war. They don't think things through. They crave purpose and meaning. They are incapable of projecting far enough into the future to do something useful. They are irrational, always, and they often cause more trouble than is needed. You could look at all of that and decide you don't want to live in such a world. But, if you do that you neglect a key aspect of it all-being a human being is a highly unique experience. Really think about that: no one will ever have a brain like yours, or your quirks, or your combination of experiences. Even your closest friends and family differ from one another despite many similarities. Expand that- humans are different from you. Consider even more the unlikeliness that you would be here in the first place. We humans take life for granted because it is all around us but you should not be here, statistically speaking. Neither should I. We are that one in a billion sperm that made it into the highly elite University of Mommy's Egg. In our case, the penalty for not getting into that university was not sulking and licking wounds or retaking the entrance exams-it was death. Right off the bat, many of the potential replacements for you never got the chance to come into existence and as such never got the privilege to truly experience being a human being. They never got the opportunity to develop a brain that is better than any supercomputer pound per pound. They never got the opportunity to reason. They were never able to use those hundreds of thousands of sensors we call rods and cones in conjunction with the world's best, all-natural, dynamically adjusting, camera lens (eyes) and the processing centers of our brain to interpret the energy given off by a sunset and translate it all into the beautiful image we know. Think about that. When you SEE, you are translating waves of energy into colors. That's insane. When you HEAR, you are translating pressure waves into the audio you are perceiving. The other sperm never even got the opportunity to hear the most gorgeous note which is capable of sending chills down your spine. Why is being a human so great? Because as a species, we are not only complex but are statistically anomalies. We go from hydrocarbon blueprints redundantly encoded in biological structures to sacks of meat to children who very quickly figure out for themselves how to take random sensory input like sight, sound, balance, etc. and make sense of it in real time. We are self-aware and dynamically adjust to life's curve balls. Why should you want to live? Because you have eternity to be dead. That's a hell of a lot longer than the 70-100 years you will be alive on this planet. As long as you are going to die anyway in the future, you may as well enjoy the privilege of being a human now while you can appreciate it because it is a gift that you would be a fool to squander.

@@utisti4976 I can't fathom what happened in your life to make you feel that way. I agree with what Derivative says, and I also want to say that you are important, very important in this Universe, because this Universe created you for a reason. We just have to find out what that is. I want to recommend a book "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle, that has changed my life quite a bit.

If you're in US, IMAX is going to be playing this movie and other space movies for the space week, it's next week. Be sure to grab the tickets and have your friends go with you, even people who aren't into space. I'm sure after watching this movie in IMAX, they'd get into it.

The best and most thought mongering film ever made it just baffled everyone who has seen it and understands it, I doubt there will be any better film ever made after this and it just questions what we think of time and space whether it's a force or physical object we just don't know, and that movie plus this soundtrack just keeps us wondering what's actually out there... Whether even if you past our galaxy you might fall into a time loop that traps you in time we just don't fucking know and it makes me sad that I won't be alive to be able to see what the truth actually is. Just a depressing movie and makes you curious at the same time. Hans down the best film ever made and ever will be made that questions real life.

I doubt many will read this, but this song inspired me to write this. Time is one of those strange things in life. It is constant. Always passing by you. An invisible force that in our world we can't see. Maybe one day we will be able to traverse time, like we can our other dimensions. Until then, live in the moment. Enjoy your moments you have with friends, family, strangers. Enjoy the seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years, decades, and your life. Try and impact as many people as you can. Interact with everyone. You never know whether that person walking on the other side of the street will be your best friend or not. Live and cherish every part of time, for one day, our time will be up, and nothing will be left of us but the feint memory of us that lives in those we have touched.

Soundtracks have been so godawful for about the past 20 years that it is completely refreshing to have a director who understands how important the score has to be. Of course there are exceptions: David Cronenberg/Howard Shore, Werner Herzog/Ernst Reijsenger, Spielberg/John Williams, Shane Carruth (Upstream Color, Primer)

@Elijah Ken It is obvious what the message of film is, I have seen the film 5 times. The truth to the story in the film is what it is , but it's not a belief I have that humans will get to creating that future entirely on their own. I NEVER take films at face value only. Interstellar happens to be my favourite film.

Don't wait for the future to come. Forge it yourself. Don't just dream of the cosmos. Search for it. You may be too late to experience a 'grand' past you've heard so much about, you may even be too early for the 'grander' future, but what's in between matters *every bit as much*, and if you think that what you do doesn't matter, that you're too small to do anything of importance...tell that to the billions of bright souls gleaming in your history and your present and your future, like the stars of your vast skies. Set course for that horizon. Question the universe. Live! You won't get this opportunity again, I can promise you that.

2023 and I come back to hear this. First I'd listen to this simply because it was a beautiful soundtrack, then this sound became an ode to missing my father, then it became my only safe space in a really unhealthy relationship. Now it's 2023 and I'm sitting here at my work place where I finally get to be independent. For the first time in my life my single parent mother, doesn't have to pay my bills. I am receiving all my blessings, I am allowing myself to feel all emotions, uncomfortable and comfortable. As soon as I feel a negative emotion I say "I give myself permission to feel this" I automatically ease out of it, give yourself permission. When something good happens I immediately thank the highest power, the universe, whatever you believe in. We have a palette of emotions. We must understand ourselves, we must be patient. Time is divine, allow yourself to be open and watch molecules open up in your body that were just waiting for you to activate them, to allow them to flow as they would because your body is their home, they know you, trust your intuition, you are divine, you are a powerful manifesting vessel.

This music is a solid representation of of the english word wonder. Humanity has always been stuck between our animal instinctive behavior and our conscious thought. Our mind is something that we use on a daily basis, and yet we barely understand the machinations of it. It is the creator of our reality, perception, and experience with the world. It causes us our most anguish and brings us the most joy. You can only WONDER if the mystery of the brain can ever be explained by other brains. I really don't know, and maybe i'm rambling, but perhaps if you're reading this, maybe we are one in the same? identical in every way, just experiencing the world in different places. Time will tell...or maybe time is the tell.

That'd be a singular philosophical view point. I'd argue it's a rather silly one. The idea that the brain creates reality, rather than the brain observers it. Under the same framework, Columbus didn't discover America. He created it. Einstein didn't discover relativity. He created it. Newton didn't discover gravity, he created it. IMO our brains don't create reality, they observe it. It's quite incredible, really, in that depending on your philosophical outlook, you can see observe the same things differently. You can look at a nuclear bomb and say "What an amazing tool that saves millions of lives" and "What a horrible device that kills millions of people". Both can be valid, under different outlooks. They can even be valid under the same outlook.

mathig nihilcek I think what was meant was that reality to one person may or may not be different to another person. "The brain creates reality," or to put it a better way, the brain interprets reality for each individual person. Separating "reality" and "perception" throws you off his meaning. You pointed it out in your examples: "Columbus didn't discover America." To the rest of the world and "European narcissism" he did discover America. To the peoples already on the North American continent, did Columbus "Discover" America? For that matter, it wasn't even America...."Einstein didn't discover relativity. He created it." In simple terms, Einstein did not, in fact, "discover" relativity. He documented what was already there after studying it. He developed an equation to explain relativity. It was always there, just never explained. Same with Newton and gravity. To truly "Discover"something, you must be the first to encounter/experience it. Gravity and relativity were always there and experienced by everyone and everything alive. It was just never explained.

The brain is the most complex computer in the world. One day we will unlock its full potential. No one really knows what the full capabilities are. In order to do that one must resist the temptation to become complacent. With the right motivation and continuous advances, what is science fiction to us today can become reality tomorrow. History has proven that point over and over. Never stop reaching.
