For those wondering the years, Cooper was gone for 89 years. He was 35 when he left. Murph was 10, therefore making her 99 at the end. Another little Easter egg: Murph was 10 years old when Cooper left, 10 years after Dr. Mann and his crew left. Meaning, she was born around the same time as Professor Brand and NASA first launched to the wormhole.

[Poet Dylan Thomas wrote his famous poem in 1951, possibly about his dying father] Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieve it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

*Interstellar is one of the greatest sci-fi films ever made.* This movie genuinely contributed to the scientific community, they actually got 2 research papers published about this. When Christopher Nolan was working on this movie rather than have an “artist’s concept” of what a black hole would look like he worked with a physicist named Kip Thorne and asked him how black holes work. So Kip gave him a bunch of maths, they sent the math to the VFX team, they put it in their render engine (which is far more powerful and expensive than anything that exists in the community) and what it produced was completely unexpected. They knew that a black hole would have what’s known as an accretion disc, but what they didn’t expect as this weird halo effect around it. The VFX team thought it was a bug so they sent it to Kip and he both confirmed that that’s what it would look like and was surprised on how well it looked. This is what a black hole would look like because the gravity is so powerful that it’s pulling light from the other side and causing you to see a second halo because you are seeing the other side of the black hole. And the time dilation is 100% accurate. If you are near something with a strong gravitational pull like a planet larger than earth or a black hole your “clock”, meaning your time, will run slower than on earth. I’m still surprised that 8 years later no one else has used that in a sci-fi movie or tv show. As for the movie itself, it is one of the most emotionally powerful and emotionally draining movies I have ever experienced. The scene of Cooper saying goodbye to his daughter before he leaves always makes me tear up, but when he sees the video messages from his children and sees how they have grown up over the past 23 years, I breakdown in tears and ugly cry just like McConaughy!

What sets this film above all other epic science fiction films is that it blends in a strong love story between a father and his daughter. Not only is Cooper tasked with saving Humanity, he is also burdened with the pain and guilt of leaving his beloved daughter. The moral question: "What are you willing to sacrifice to save others?" is addressed throughout the entire film. 11 Lazarus astronauts sacrificed their lives to save Humanity, but the 12th - Dr. Mann - could not. He was too selfish. Professor Brand lied and sacrificed everyone on Earth to save the species. He was sure that his equations could not be solved, but Cooper and his daughter Murphy proved him wrong. Plan A worked! I could write about this brilliant film all day.....LOL!

One of the best reactions I've seen to what I would consider my favorite movie of all time. This movie has it all and is so well done, and then to be predominantly accurate in the science is just impeccable filmmaking. Also, they gave us one of the first realistic visual depictions of a black hole. Then after the movie, scientists actually showed us the first ever image of a black hole and it was strikingly similar in concept to what the movie had already portrayed. Really an astonishing movie all around. Nolan movies always seem to literally make my brain explode...I had the same reactions on Inception and even Tenet. Great reaction you two!

Such a great movie. Music, just took it over the top. Water works every time I “watch” (ehhh ohhh) this. If you watch it multiple times, you seem to pick up on so many more things. They layers to this move are insane.

I wish I could hear anything other than Philip Glass every time I watch this film. If you didn't know, that's where I think Hanz Zimmer got his inspiration from. You listen to Glass and you immediately get the connection. Have a lovely day everyone.
