Probably, I will not be original if I say that this song is of great importance in my life. It is like an inexplicable feeling of some kind of light sadness, longing for something irrevocable, as if you lived at another time, where you have never really been, feeling deja vu where you expect it the least. I feel some kind of mixed envy of the lucky ones who lived at that time at a conscious age, dusty garages and small clubs, without phones and gadgets, where every word was said each other in the face at arm's length or a short breath. Where people appreciated every moment of their lives, did miracles with their own hands, and then applauded these hands in dusty clubs and small garages, loved, cried and laughed, sang favorite songs, and were truly happy. I miss such a non-existent version of myself. As if I really lived at that time and was among these lucky ones, but then I fell asleep for a long time and forgot everything. And these songs help me wake up. And this is the sweetest awakening in my life.

When things get intense, the only thing that will save you is clarity of mind. Interpol must be one of the (few) bands that will be known for having landmarked this decade. Carlos D is my favourite, with incredibly intelligent bass lines. Banks and Kessler have that unique guitar harmonies whereas Sam is as clever as gold. Interpol lyrics are just brilliant, the 3 LP's are a true demonstration of what a rock band should be. Tense and emotion driven...

Being a colossal Koufax Division fan a guy at work told me about this band and how much they are like them. Being a little skeptical as usual I listened to the cd he let me borrow and this was the first song I heard from them. I was blown away how a non complex sounding song can be so beautiful and mesmerizing at the same time. Seen them six times now but I do have to admit was not a big fan of their later work, but their earlier stuff is still amazing and the closest to Joy Division I have heard from a band. This and not even jail are easily my 2 favorites out of many they have. Especially on run out the bright lights. Amazing album- flawless effort.

I found this thanks to friends and I’m just amazed at how this song gave me goosebumps. It literally made me stop everything and just play this. I turned off my lights in my room and just relaxed!! I been thru a lot in the last 2 years as of posting this comment. I just put everything on pause and laid down.. probably one of the most amazing songs I ever heard and I usually listen to hip hop !!
This has got to be the best intro ever for an album or a concert. Paul is in a good shape in this one. The audience seems absolutely stunned by what they are listening to probably realizing like we all did that Interpol is for real...a world class band.
This fucking riff is so beautiful and I never get tired of it
The imperfections of this make it perfect.
La cancion mas simple y mas enternecidamente triste de interpol. La esperanza nunca muere
One of the best songs ever written, so melodic, makes me wanna cry when i'm listening to it, and my very first song i learned on the drums. Cheers Interpol!!!
probably the best if not of the best intro’s to a song but to set off the mood for a classic album 🤝
Interpol Live is a happening people...have been through Europe to see them and truly every time it was unreal....one of my all-time favorites Live
when you are down, something fine will suddenly surprise you around. It's not necessarily a particular person: it's some form of grace that is there to save you right at that moment, like a guardian angel.
2006 wei.....perhhhh i miss you
my day starts with this track
This was the song whe chose for our wedding dance, just perfect :-)
When things get intense, the only thing that will save you is clarity of mind. Interpol must be one of the (few) bands that will be known for having landmarked this decade. Carlos D is my favourite, with incredibly intelligent bass lines. Banks and Kessler have that unique guitar harmonies whereas Sam is as clever as gold. Interpol lyrics are just brilliant, the 3 LP's are a true demonstration of what a rock band should be. Tense and emotion driven...
Its my favourite song of theirs . AWESOME ! I've seen these guys live 4 times
This song really does takes you to another place!
Chameleons on steroids. And I don't mean that as a dis. Utterly amazing sounding band with a clear influence. -- andyvrana1, the guitar player is likely using multiple "chorus" effect pedals in unison, along with delay and reverb. Classic U2 80's sound.

people can hate on u2 as much as they want, but they have influenced countless bands that influenced bands that we love today. U2 had a huge impact on that alternative/indie sound we love today!

Bill Full and if we go even further back id like to think The Velvet Underground had a major impact on alternative indie music. I mean they’re one of the first Experimental bands of the 60’s
One of the best songs ever. So beautiful..
Excellent performance! I love Interpol! ♥
Great song, I need a cigarette now! ;-)

+mikew4001 haha my thoughts entirely when I saw him spark up the cigarette! You might like a band called Lucid Rivers as well.
just saw them live in Brazi. Top 5 best gigs i've ever seen. This is my favourite from them.Pure beauty
I saw them open for The Cure and they were all dressed like 1970's detectives or something. Paul had on the leather gun holder with the stereotypical mirrored police sunglasses. It was so classic. They continue to put out great music and are definitely here to stay.
Released ten years ago today! Man, time passed fast.

15 repeats in and still incredible.
probably, this is the coolest vocal performance ever happened in music history. look how paul banks is looking with his cigar...dancing coolness.
Same here I just listen to it over and over again and am amazed every time
Why do i cry every time that i listen to this song
still gives me chills when i listen to this. interpol is the best band ever
"Song landscapes that allow dreaminess to be both immediate and distant." ~Paul Banks 🙌🏼
It's a shame more people don't appreciate the awesomeness that is Interpol..

Still getting chills LOVE it!
Three weeks and I get to see this again live. Might cry a little.
From one of the greatest ever albums.
Damn, this song is sooooooooooooooooooo good. i love when he starts to sing...
listening to this album now and I am amazed by it , its nothing like a debut every song a classic. Any band would be happy to write one off TOTBL yet Interpol surpass every expectation and give 11 it would be the ideal greatest hits album ever as ever y song is spectacular
Ten years later, I can decisively say this was THE joint of 2002.
Perfect song, so sad... thanks interpol
que mas decir....muy buenos acordes...sombria y abstracta como debe ser...gracias interpol...lo mejor....
I was there, alone and it was raining a lot because in Brittany it rains a lot....and the concert was great!
Damn! These guys are amazing. Interpol my favorite band of all times.
Have mercy when he’s dancing around with his cigarette 💯 ❤️🙌🏽
It’s 2020... there’s a global pandemic running rampant, you’re locked away in your house listening to this heavenly fast... you’re alright for those few mins because your mind took you back to high school before responsibilities and global quarantines... things are fine for just a moment ❤️
If I had to choose 10 songs for a space trip, "untitled" would be one of them. There's no doubt about it.
I can't believe they played this last night at the Horden (sydney) followed by Stella then PDA, what a finale... Stood about 4 metres from Carlos too much cool for one man, one band and the rest of us mortals.
I love this song. Its the best. To me its the drums
Fills my hallow shell with shivers and goosebumps.
one of the best songs ever
I say, if it’s ever a thing, this immediately gets a KZread H.O.F. nomination, in the category for live music videos. So f***in legendary.
Simply WOW !!! Lovin it
0.48-0.55 how to be super cool with guitar 101
Being a colossal Koufax Division fan a guy at work told me about this band and how much they are like them. Being a little skeptical as usual I listened to the cd he let me borrow and this was the first song I heard from them. I was blown away how a non complex sounding song can be so beautiful and mesmerizing at the same time. Seen them six times now but I do have to admit was not a big fan of their later work, but their earlier stuff is still amazing and the closest to Joy Division I have heard from a band. This and not even jail are easily my 2 favorites out of many they have. Especially on run out the bright lights. Amazing album- flawless effort.
probably my favourite interpol song.
simply amazing.
Deep!!....i love every sound of this song...yay!
a great opening track sets up the band nicely for any and all future rockin'
everytime i'm sad or melancholy i hear this band...and...damn...i forget everything
this is my fav interpol song , i really want to c them live
i agree that this is an insane opening to a cd. so fucking good. sets the mood completely.
Killer tune love it
So much emotion out of 4 notes and 11 words which is so simplistic, also happens to be the song playing on the end credits in f-r-i-e-n-d-s the one in Barbados where joey and rachel almost, unforgettable
I've listened to this fucking song for 10 times in a single day now and I am feeling fucking sad
It is a wonderful piece of art
its soo effin beautiful!!!
this song has a somber atmosphere with suprisingly sweet lyrics
Great Song, just brilliant
