Hi Martin, We hotspot off the phone for browsing / KZread etc. that’s about it. £10 / month for 20gb, phone sim only so ample for us and no doubt there are cheaper sim deals out there. Thanks for the detailed review 👍. Cheers, Rob

Hi Rob, we have really low data on our phones as we don’t really use it throughout the year. This method just gives us more options to change data or provider if needed. Thanks for watching

Hi Martin, the results for the Kuma appeared worse than your mobile phone despite a dedicated aerial. We use a tp-link wifi device with a tesco sim card and get good results

The results were the Kuma along side my usual internet set up of Netgear with antenna. They were similar in results but both more than enough to stream or browse the internet. Just another alternative. Cheers

Good review Martin but bit expensive . We hate having no data signal when we are away drives us mad. I use a TP-Link 4G router with a prepaid EE sim £50 from Argos for 120gb that lasts 12 months Tethering to phone can be hit and miss and if you are streaming from phone but also want to browse ( multi tasking ) it isn’t always good. Issue I found was Internet during day was good with fast speeds but come evening with caravan closed up and blinds down the signal was crap. Realised that the blinds are metallic coated and so when all are down you are effectively in a metal box that signal can’t penetrate Opened the blinds near router and up came the speed ! The hours I’ve faffed around is unbelievable- if it’s not the tv it’s the internet ! Such is caravanning ! Cheers H 👍🏻

Hi Howard, It’s cheaper than my current set up. I think I’m going to buy the cheapest WiFi box I can find and see how that does, just as a comparison. Never thought about the blinds, good point there. I spent ages trying to get the rugby on a few months ago, really frustrating. Thanks for comments and watching

Cheers Martin - check out TP-Link stuff , they are 4G I’d thought about getting Three home 5G broadband then taking the router away with us but currently with Sky and have stable speed at home . Know what you mean about the rugby - I’m an F1 fan and always seem to get a good stream on Firestick …. Till the formation lap ! Then I’m leaping around the van , resetting firestick vpn on vpn off blah blah to get the stream back before the podium !

It all depends on where you are and if you don't go back to a bad spot and test it there the test is invalid pal.

The price is not worth it. I use a 4g router with a smarty sim. My router cost £40 new, work from caravan with it, watch youtube, britbox, prime etc. kuma router is £120 more than my router. So i think the price is taking the ****, companies hoping vloggers and influencers give it a good review. So £160 for router and £60 for antenna, nthen a measly 10gb a month with that sim. Much better options out there than this.

There are lots of options out there to suit everyone’s needs and budgets. My current set up of a Netgear Nighthawk M2 and Poynting antenna would cost around £500, the Avtex WiFi system is around £350, so in comparison with those the Kuma is cheaper and probably produces similar results. Yes the SIM is expensive, I won’t be using that. I’m not saying this is the best option, just an alternative. Cheers

Why don't you just Hotspot off your phone ? my phone plan includes 100gb a month rolling over each month for £10 a month including EU roaming. Its what we do works fine

That’s what lots of people do and it’s a good way of doing it. We just prefer a separate internet, we have fairly low data usage on our phones, I use less than 2gb per month. Don’t want to change my phone contract. It works for us. Cheers

Blimey £160 plus data charges just to do what you could already do with your phone.

@@garymcafee5995the point of it is the massive boost you get with the antennas ,I get no signal with phone and hotspot
