International Multihull Show report - The catamaran show
The 2023 edition of the International Multihull Show has been held from 12 to 16 April at Grand Motte on the French Mediterranean.
The event, attended by some 50 catamarans and a few trimarans from many countries, both European and non-European, is the only European show dedicated to multihulls.
Our editor, Maurizio Anzillotti, visited it, producing a report on the show.
We chose to show you all the novelties and some boats that we found particularly interesting.

Beautiful boat and a great tour.
I think that the smartest catamaran on the market today, the one that best correlates its price with its performance and comfort, is the Excess 14. After the flop of the 12 and 15, which were born on Lagoon hulls and didn't sail even if you pushed them, the 11, as Maurizio always says, and this 14 are fast and fun boats. Next, at least the one I liked in this video, is the Windelo. I had seen it in several advertisements and never considered it, but I didn't realise it was a wholly ecological and very low-weight cat.

Windelo 54 is the one Sailing vessel I personally would like to skipper around the world.
The Aventura 50 is a nice boat, but for 50’, the main saloon should extend forward another 5 feet.
I am not a big fan of catamarans, but my wife won't let me live unless I exchange my sailing boat for a catamaran. Now I own a three-cabin Oceanis 46.1. In your opinion, Maurizio, given the characteristics of my boat, what catamaran could I buy?

I would suggest a standard catamaran like Lagoon or Bailì or Fountaine Pajot. Each of these has its own characteristics. Some care more for comfort and less for aesthetics, while others favour aesthetics even if they sacrifice some volume. The quality of construction does not change much from yard to yard (standard yards), even if there are some differences. Unfortunately, I don't have the elements to be more specific, but if you decide on a specific boat and write me the model, I will be able to tell you what I think about it.
None of these boats are blue water cruisers.
