Nice video. FWIW, the three granddaughters of Wang Zi Ping--mentioned in this video--teach both traditional Kung Fu and contemporary Wushu. Helen Wu (Canada), Grace Wu (Kansas), and Wu Xiaoping (Texas) all have schools and teach Taiji, Chaquan, and Wushu, among other styles. Cheers!

Thank you Master Yang, Once again you helped us to a better understanding in this very very important aspects! I am a litle confused now, because I thought Shaolin Temple and it´s Wu Shu is the traditional way. I have to relearn and don´t know how to think about Shaolin Temple and it´s role in Kung Fu. Looking forward to every video of you. Thomas

Hi Master Yang, thanks again for this excellent video and interesting historical perspective. Here is my question for the Q/A, I am not sure if it's the best way to phrase it. You mentioned earlier that the 5 elements are meant to develop forces upon which other Xing Yi techniques are relying on. Would it be possible to give examples of applications and techniques involving a realization of the force practiced by Pi Chuan? Thanks, Fred

Thank you Sifu Yang for the detailed presentation. a Question for the Q&A coming session: What is the different between Jin (as FAJIN) and QI. It seems that QI and YI are fundamental to generate and express Jin. But are they Necessary? Could someone FA Jin without Developed or coordinated or practiced QI? IT seems that JIN and QI have many similarities. They both can be transmitted outside the body, they can be sort of a field (PENG faJIN). They can move in the body as a wave, or a pulse. When a QI Kong doctor emit QI to a patient does he or she emit JIN?

Hello Wang Laoshi. I've been watching your videos for a long time, though on and off. You have probably already answered this question, possibly multiple times, so forgive me if you have. I currently live in a part of America very lacking in practitioners of any sort of authentic Chinese martial arts practice. Really, lacking anything Chinese whatever. Is there any way for me to start to learn it beyond theory or will I simply have to wait or keep looking until I can find someone?

Do I need to do standing practice for the full life of my training? What are the signs that you can develop without the standing practice.

Once you do it at the beginning it becomes an active recall and even if you don't do Zhanzhuang explicitly, the principle remain even in motion. So no, in my humble opinion.

Not that necessary. Some standing practices have been over-exaggerated by many people.

Thank you Master Hai Yang!! Unfortunately, most of us have learned dewatered kung fu. In this way we cannot develop its full potential. But I have to say that it is not only our fault, because the wushu propaganda machine is very strong. The main problem I see is the delusion that modern wushu can be used efficiently for self defense. That is why it is very important to publicize channels like yours in order to minimize the negative effects of this propaganda.

Very informative video. I think it was in 2007 on a visit to Germany that Wudang great Yuan Liming visited a Shaolin presentation in Bochum, I think. These presentations touring the world are mostly wushu as far as I have learned. Identifying Yuansi in the audience he and his hosts were later invitef backstage, because the young people were quite interested in meeting him. It was interesting to hear later, how referential they have been. As you are saying, high-level wu shu practitioners have invested a lot of time and pain into becoming stupendously good at what they are doing and that deserves a lot of respect. But most audiences won't know whether what they see is traditional od 'traditional' anyway, I think. And as long, as they are happy, I think, it matters only between the different kinds of practitioners and their students.

Thank you for your input. However, you said " I think, it matters only between the different kinds of practitioners and their students." Sure, I am not interfering anybody's practice at all, but just sharing some historical and cultural related contextual information with the community. I am sure many people will be happy after watching this video since this video can, at least potentially clarify some misunderstandings about different types of practices. Again, truth should be spoken out, sooner or later and it is not that late:) I hope you will like this video as well.
